Contactless external manifold design of a kW-scale solid oxide electrolysis cell stack and analysis of its impact on the internal stack environment

open access: yesEnergy Conversion and Management: X
A solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC) technology emerges as a promising solution for producing environmentally friendly green hydrogen. However, stacking multiple repeating units to maximize hydrogen production introduces significant challenges ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Free Cash-Flow, Issuance Costs and Stock Price Volatility [PDF]

open access: yes
We study the issuance and payout policies that maximize the value of a firm facing both agency costs of free cash-flow and external financing costs. We find that the firm optimally issues equity.

Simulation and static measurement of the gas volume fraction in a separated flow model using a Conductance Multiphase Venturi Meter (CMVM) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The assumption of equal mixture densities at the inlet and the throat of the Venturi is only valid in a homogenous flow. This assumption is no longer valid for a separated flow and therefore, the measurement of the gas volume fraction at the throat must ...

Knowledge Flows and Knowledge Externalities [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2002
The diffusion of knowledge in the world generates positive externalities if knowledge flows increase the productivity of R&D. Our work analyzes knowledge diffusion and knowledge externalities in generating innovation and in determining productivity. We first estimate the determinants of knowledge flows across 141 sub-national regions in 19 countries of

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

A flowmeter for measuring the dispersed phase velocity in multiphase flow with non-uniform velocity profile [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This study aims to introduce a new technique to measure the velocity distribution of the dispersed component of a vertical, upward, water continuous two-phase pipe flow. Here, it is proposed that measurements of the variation in the local conductance
