Prearterial External Iliac Vein as a Rare Anomaly of the Iliac Vein
Annals of Vascular Surgery, 2015The coexistence of a retroperitoneal venous anomaly requires special consideration during open aortoiliac surgery. Anomalies of the external iliac vein are rare, and no anomalies of the right external iliac vein, which passes ventral to the external iliac artery, have been reported in the English literature to the best of our knowledge.

Primary External Iliac Vein Leiomyosarcoma
Annals of Vascular Surgery, 2019Leiomyosarcomas of vascular origin are uncommon. They arise from the smooth muscles of tunica media of major blood vessels. Most of the cases are present in women. We report one such case of external iliac vein leiomyosarcoma in a 77-year-old female and discuss the clinical, radiological, and histopathological findings and the available treatment ...

Occlusion of the external iliac vein by cement
The Journal of Arthroplasty, 1996The case of an 80-year-old woman who sustained occlusion of the external iliac vein by methyl methacrylate cement following total hip arthroplasty is presented. The cement was removed via a pelvic approach without the need for revision of the acetabular cup and led to resolution of her symptoms.

Ruptured aneurysm of the external iliac vein
Journal of Vascular Surgery: Venous and Lymphatic Disorders, 2016Primary iliac venous aneurysm is an extremely rare vascular abnormality that is associated with the likelihood of rupture, embolism, and thrombosis. In this report, we describe the case of a ruptured aneurysm of the external iliac vein in a 63-year-old woman who was admitted to the emergency department and diagnosed by computed tomography.

Leiomyosarcoma of the common femoral and external iliac veins
International Journal of Angiology, 1999A leiomyosarcoma was detected in the region of the left iliac vein in a 37-year-old male patient who had experienced intermittent swelling of the left leg for a period of 3 months prior to admission. The results of the diagnostic imaging procedures carried out (ultrasonography, CT scan, phlebography) all pointed to a thrombus affecting the iliac vein ...

Novel Repair of an External Iliac Vein Aneurysm
Annals of Vascular Surgery, 2012Aneurysms involving the venous system are a rare entity. We report the case of a 37-year-old woman who presented to us with activity-limiting left gluteal pain and who on consequent workup was found to have a left external iliac vein aneurysm in a setting of iliocavomegaly.

Spontaneous Rupture of the Right External Iliac Vein
Annals of Vascular Surgery, 2011Spontaneous rupture of an iliac vein is a very rare condition, with 34 reported cases in the previously published data and only two cases involving the right side. We report the third case of spontaneous rupture of the right external iliac vein. A 62-year-old woman presented with sudden onset of lower abdominal pain and an inability to move the right ...

Primary vein leiomyosarcoma is rare type of a vascular sarcoma and arises from the spindle cells of the venous wall. The tumor may present difficulty of vascular reconstruction after en block resection. We present a case of internal iliac vein transposition for vascular reconstruction after resection of an external iliac vein leiomyosarcoma. To our ...
