External quality assessment (EQA) for CoaguChek monitors

Thrombosis and Haemostasis, 2010
SummaryAnticoagulant control facilities are being overwhelmed by requests for monitoring and large numbers of patients are not therefore receiving treatment. Procedures designed for point-of-care testing have therefore been developed, the most popular being the CoaguChek.

Automated Online Monitoring of Distributed Applications through External Monitors

IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing, 2006
It is a challenge to provide detection facilities for large-scale distributed systems running legacy code on hosts that may not allow fault tolerant functions to execute on them. It is tempting to structure the detection in an observer system that is kept separate from the observed system of protocol entities, with the former only having access to the ...

External Dosimetry and Personnel Monitoring

Health Physics, 2005
The early history of our profession, as well as the discoveries that form its foundations, provide an interesting background on which to assess our progress in measuring exposure to ionizing radiation (i.e., dosimetry). One of the first challenges faced by scientists working with radiation and radioactivity was appropriate measurement techniques.

Cosmotron External Beam Monitor

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1958
A device of sufficiently low density so that it could be ieft in the beam for continuous monitoring by the Cosmotron operators is described. The device is an 8-in.-diam. ionization chamber with Mylar walls. One wall is coated with Al and the other has a silk-screened silver mosaic of 64 spots.

External Ground Monitoring v. Receiver Monitoring

Journal of Navigation, 1991
The transmissions from GPS and GLONASS navigation satellites include information about the state of those transmissions as perceived by the control centre. In the case of GPS, for example, this information is contained in the data stream in Subframe 1 Word 3.

External Behavior Monitoring Mirrors Internal Behavior Monitoring

Journal of Psychophysiology, 2005
Abstract: The discovery of mirror neurons in monkeys has reshaped thinking about how the brain processes observed actions. There is growing evidence that these neurons, which show similar firing patterns for action execution and observation, also exist in humans.

Monitoring Batch Processes Using External Information

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2000
Abstract Batch process monitoring is usually performed based on empirical models of batch process data obtained from normal operation batch-runs. Such models may be improved by incorporating external information explicitly. Two types of external information are discussed: batch-run specific and process specific information.

A New Way To Monitor External Ventricular Drainage

Neurosurgery, 1992
External ventricular drainage is prone to mechanical complications and monitoring the system is not easy. It requires repeated checking of the drip or the level of the drained cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in the bag. It was thus proposed that an efficient method by which to monitor the complete external ventricular drainage system would be by continuously

External Monitoring and Conclusions

2015
The quotation below is taken from the final lines of the late fifteenth century play Everyman. It illustrates the prominence of accounting in the popular mind as the means by which man’s conduct and actions were justified or condemned.

Individual monitoring for external radiation at accelerator facilities

Radiation Protection Dosimetry, 2011
Individual monitoring at accelerator facilities is discussed, within the framework set out by the International Commission on Radiological Protection and with reference to the implementation of the recommendations of that body within the European Basic Safety Standards.
