Thermal losses evaluation of an external rectangular receiver in a windy environment

Solar Energy, 2019
Abstract The efficiency of a CSP plant heavily depends on the performance of the receiver. The receiver is responsible for light-heat conversion in a power generation system. With the objective of numerical evaluation of the thermal losses of an external receiver, a method was developed in the present study.

Planning Care For the Patient Receiving External Radiation

AJN, American Journal of Nursing, 1981
The concept of treatment with radiation therapy has changed dramatically over the last decade. Now radiation therapy is now used alone or more frequently as part of a multimodality approach-preoperative or postoperative radiotherapy in combination with surgery and in conjunction with chemotherapy and immunotherapy.

Hearing aids with external receivers

The Hearing Journal, 2007
The design of hearing solutions for people with moderate to severe hearing loss (HL) traditionally encounters the tradeoff between form and function, appearance and performance. That is, patients typically must sacrifice cosmetics and/or ease of use to obtain devices that can provide them with adequate gain and output.

Spatial Arrangements of Externality Generating and Receiving Activities [PDF]

open access: possible, 2003
Many cases of externalities in agricultural production such as pesticide drift, cross-pollination, and offensive odors are attributable to the incompatibility of neighboring land uses. This paper offers an examination of when an efficient activity arrangement is compatible with free-market incentives.

Study on Receiving External Power Evaluation Method of the Receiving Power Grid

2018 China International Conference on Electricity Distribution (CICED), 2018
The capacity of power supplied by external for receiving-end grid is comprehensive reflection of how much power of ‘send to’ and’ come down’. To a certain extent, the capacity of power supplied by external is the sign of the mature development of the power grid.

Probe-receiver coupling in external calibration systems

2016 German Microwave Conference (GeMiC), 2016
On-line calibration systems with near-field probes are an attractive approach for large-size DBF arrays. In order to improve the calibration accuracy, a model of the coupling between the receiver patch and the calibration monopole probe is developed further in this contribution. A Fourier-based approximation of the radiation characteristic of the patch

Results on the Performance of the Sulzer Cavity Receiver and the Franco-Tosi External Receiver

1986
This paper presents some of the results of evaluation performed on the cavity receiver (Sulzer) and the external receiver (ASR) installed at the IEA/SSPS project. These two different receiver concepts were tested in the 500 kW central receiver system experiment at the Small Solar Power Systems Project in Almeria, Spain. Both receivers use liquid sodium

External Ground Monitoring v. Receiver Monitoring

Journal of Navigation, 1991
The transmissions from GPS and GLONASS navigation satellites include information about the state of those transmissions as perceived by the control centre. In the case of GPS, for example, this information is contained in the data stream in Subframe 1 Word 3.

Experimental and numerical evaluation of a lab-scale external solar receiver

Journal of Renewable and Sustainable Energy, 2020
Solar power tower system with an external receiver is one of the most promising technologies for electricity generation and has a high concentration ratio and a high operating temperature range. In this paper, a lab-scale external receiver with xenon lamps, using molten salt as a heat transfer fluid, was established, and its optical and thermodynamic ...

External Leakage from Feeding Gastrostomies in Patients Receiving Valproate Sprinkle

Epilepsia, 1992
Summary: We reviewed the incidence of external leakage from feeding gastrostomies in 8 patients who received valproate sprinkle (VPA‐S). We also identified a control group of 31 children with feeding gastrostomies who were also cared for in our clinic, but who did not receive VPA‐S.
