Large Extra Dimensions

open access: yes, 2004
The modern status of large extra dimensional (LED) approaches, highlights of their manifestation and short prehistory are discussed in this paper.

dUTPase is essential in zebrafish development and possesses several single‐nucleotide variants with pronounced structural and functional consequences

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
dUTPases are involved in balancing the appropriate nucleotide pools. We showed that dUTPase is essential for normal development in zebrafish. The different zebrafish genomes contain several single‐nucleotide variations (SNPs) of the dut gene. One of the dUTPase variants displayed drastically lower protein stability and catalytic efficiency as compared ...

C2α‐carbanion‐protonating glutamate discloses tradeoffs between substrate accommodation and reaction rate in actinobacterial 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,

Thin-wall vacuum decay in the presence of a compact dimension meets the H 0 and S 8 tensions

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
The proposal of a rapid sign-switching cosmological constant in the late universe, mirroring a transition from anti-de Sitter (AdS) to de Sitter (dS) space, has significantly improved the fit to observational data and provides a compelling framework for ...

Localization of U(1) gauge vector field on flat branes with five-dimension (asymptotic) AdS5 spacetime

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
In order to localize U(1) gauge vector field on Randall-Sundrum-like braneworld model with infinite extra dimension, we propose a new kind of non-minimal coupling between the U(1) gauge field and the gravity.

Cargese Lectures on Extra Dimensions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
I give a pedagogical introduction to the concepts and the tools that are necessary to study particle physics models in higher dimensions. I then give a more detailed presentation of warped compactifications and discuss their possible relevance to the ...

Search For Extra Dimensions At LEP

open access: yes, 2004
Searches for extra dimensions have been made at the four LEP experiments, ALEPH, DELPHI, L3 and OPAL, where different processes have been searched for within both the ADD and Randall-Sundrum scenarios.

Natural supersymmetry from extra dimensions

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2016
We show that natural supersymmetry can be embedded in a five-dimensional theory with supersymmetry breaking la Scherk-Schwarz (SS). There is no 'gluino-sucks' problem for stops localized in the four-dimensional brane and gluinos propagating in the full five-dimensional bulk, and sub-TeV stops are easily accommodated. The $ / B_ $ problem is absent

Patatin‐domain‐containing (phospho)lipases under control: Mammalian co‐regulators and pathogenic activation mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Patatin domain‐containing (phospho)lipases are lipid‐hydrolyzing enzymes central to metabolism, membrane remodeling, and signaling. Their activity relies on precise co‐activation mechanisms involving protein–protein interactions and conformational rearrangements.
