Impedance Control of Space Robot On-Orbit Insertion and Extraction Based on Prescribed Performance Method

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
Aiming at the force position control problem of the on-orbit insertion and extraction operation of the free-floating space robot, the system dynamics model is established.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

On the uniform generation of modular diagrams [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper we present an algorithm that generates $k$-noncrossing, $\sigma$-modular diagrams with uniform probability. A diagram is a labeled graph of degree $\le 1$ over $n$ vertices drawn in a horizontal line with arcs $(i,j)$ in the upper half ...

Blind and robust images watermarking based on wavelet and edge insertion

open access: yes, 2013
This paper gives a new scheme of watermarking technique related to insert the mark by adding edge in HH sub-band of the host image after wavelet decomposition.

Kinetics of Electrochemical Insertion and Extraction of Lithium Ion at SiO [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of The Electrochemical Society, 2010
The kinetics of the electrochemical insertion and extraction of lithium ion at silicon monoxide (SiO) were investigated by ac impedance spectroscopy. The resultant Nyquist plots showed two semicircles at high and middle frequency regions. These two semicircles were attributed to lithium-ion transport resistance in a surface film and alloying reaction ...

Electrochemical extraction of lithium by ion insertion from natural brine using a flow-by reactor: Possibilities and limitations

open access: yesElectrochemistry Communications, 2021
Experimental results on the sustainable extraction of lithium chloride from natural brine (Salar de Hombre Muerto, Argentina) using a flow-by electrochemical reactor at constant applied current are presented.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Pain and discomfort following insertion of miniscrews and premolar extractions: A randomized controlled trial [PDF]

open access: yesThe Angle Orthodontist, 2016
ABSTRACT Objective: To investigate and compare the experience of pain and discomfort between insertion of miniscrews and premolar extractions in adolescent patients. Materials and Methods: A total of 80 adolescents were recruited and randomized into groups A and B.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

A Non-Blocking Priority Queue for the Pending Event Set [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The large diffusion of shared-memory multi-core machines has impacted the way Parallel Discrete Event Simulation (PDES) engines are built. While they were originally conceived as data-partitioned platforms, where each thread is in charge of managing a ...
