An efficient feature extraction for biometric authentication
International Journal of Business Intelligence and Data Mining, 2020Biometric authentication has received greater significance due to its high uniqueness and performance. The ability of quick and convenient authentication is required due to its widespread demand. Extraction of feature is the primary and important task for effective authentication. Dissimilar chrominance texture pattern (DiCTP) technique is used in this

Efficient approximated i-vector extraction
2012 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2012I-vectors are currently widely used by state-of-the-art speech processing systems for tasks such as speaker verification and language identification. A shortcoming of i-vector-based systems is that the i-vector extraction process is computationally expensive. In this paper we propose an efficient method to extract i-vectors approximately.

Efficient Respiratory Rate Extraction on a Smartwatch
2020 42nd Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine & Biology Society (EMBC), 2020Using the Photoplethysmogram (PPG) sensor of a smartwatch to extract Respiratory Rate (RR) is very attractive. However, existing algorithms suffer from lack of accuracy and susceptibility to noise and movement artifacts. To tackle this issue, we propose performing Frequency Domain Peak (FDP) analysis using the Frequency Modulation (FM) feature ...

Efficient Silhouette Extraction with Dynamic Viewpoint
2007 IEEE 11th International Conference on Computer Vision, 2007A novel approach is proposed that extends the classical background subtraction method to extract silhouettes from videos in real time with dynamic viewpoint variation caused by camera movement. First, manifold learning is used to model the background under viewpoint variations.

Constructing efficient information extraction pipelines
Proceedings of the 20th ACM international conference on Information and knowledge management, 2011Information Extraction (IE) pipelines analyze text through several stages. The pipeline's algorithms determine both its effectiveness and its run-time efficiency. In real-world tasks, however, IE pipelines often fail acceptable run-times because they analyze too much task-irrelevant text.

Equipotential shells for efficient inductance extraction
IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided Design of Integrated Circuits and Systems, 2001To make three-dimensional (3-D) on-chip interconnect inductance extraction tractable, it is necessary to ignore parasitic couplings without compromising critical properties of the interconnect system. It is demonstrated that simply discarding faraway mutual inductance couplings can lead to an unstable approximate inductance matrix.

Exploration on efficient similar sentences extraction
World Wide Web, 2013Measuring the semantic similarity between sentences is an essential issue for many applications, such as text summarization, Web page retrieval, question-answer model, image extraction, and so forth. A few studies have explored on this issue by several techniques, e.g., knowledge-based strategies, corpus-based strategies, hybrid strategies, etc.
