Differences in allelopathic effect of tree of heaven root extracts and isolated ailanthone on test-species [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Central European Agriculture, 2021
The objective of this paper was to analyse allelopathic effect of 3 different aqueous solutions from tree of heaven’s (Ailanthus altissima (Mill.) Swingle) root extract and their dilutions on common wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), pigweed (Amaranthus ...

Potential Global-Local Inconsistency in Species-Area Relationships Fitting

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2016
The Species-Area Relationship (SAR) has been widely employed to assess species diversity and predict species extinction. Thus far, although many functions were proposed to fit SAR based on field observations or simulation results, the shape of SAR curve ...

Determinants of habitat suitability models transferability across geographically disjunct populations: Insights from Vipera ursinii ursinii

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, 2021
Transferability of habitat suitability models (HSMs), essential to accurately predict outside calibration conditions, has been seldom investigated at intraspecific level.

Concept Extrapolation: A Conceptual Primer [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
This article is a primer on concept extrapolation - the ability to take a concept, a feature, or a goal that is defined in one context and extrapolate it safely to a more general context. Concept extrapolation aims to solve model splintering - a ubiquitous occurrence wherein the features or concepts shift as the world changes over time.

Low error Kramers-Kronig estimations using symmetric extrapolation method

open access: yesJournal of Electrical Bioimpedance, 2021
Kramers-Kronig (KK) equations allow us to obtain the real or imaginary part of linear, causal and time constant functions, starting from the imaginary or real part respectively.

Position Interpolation Improves ALiBi Extrapolation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Linear position interpolation helps pre-trained models using rotary position embeddings (RoPE) to extrapolate to longer sequence lengths. We propose using linear position interpolation to extend the extrapolation range of models using Attention with Linear Biases (ALiBi). We find position interpolation significantly improves extrapolation capability on

Time Domain Characteristic Mode Analysis for Transmission Problems

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2020
Characteristic mode analysis (CMA) is based on time-harmonic electromagnetics and applied mostly in frequency domain. In this paper, CMA is extended to time domain (TD) for transmission problems. Based on the modal self- and mutual-admittance of two-port

Extrapolation Frameworks in Cognitive Psychology Suitable for Study of Image Classification Models [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
We study the functional task of deep learning image classification models and show that image classification requires extrapolation capabilities. This suggests that new theories have to be developed for the understanding of deep learning as the current theory assumes models are solely interpolating, leaving many questions about them unanswered.
