Automated System for forecasting and capacity management in BPO

open access: yesEAI Endorsed Transactions on Energy Web, 2023
In the virtual world, every decision made by executives today need forecasting. Sound forecasting of demand and variations are no longer an extravagance but a necessity, since Operations in the organizations have to deal with the seasonality, sudden ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

A Fluid Flow‐Based Deep Learning (FFDL) Architecture for Subsurface Flow Systems With Application to Geologic CO2 Storage

open access: yesWater Resources Research
Prediction of the spatial‐temporal dynamics of the fluid flow in complex subsurface systems, such as geologic CO2 storage, is typically performed using advanced numerical simulation methods that solve the underlying governing physical equations. However,

An advanced method of interpolation of short-focus electron beams boundary trajectories using higher-order root-polynomial functions and its comparative study

open access: yesSistemnì Doslìdženâ ta Informacìjnì Tehnologìï
The comparison of three advanced novel methods for estimating the boundary trajectory of electron beams propagated in ionized gas, including lower-order interpolation, self-connected interpolation, and extrapolation, as well as higher-order interpolation,

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Using Temporal Deep Learning Models to Estimate Daily Snow Water Equivalent Over the Rocky Mountains

open access: yesWater Resources Research
In this study we construct and compare three different deep learning (DL) models for estimating daily snow water equivalent (SWE) from high‐resolution gridded meteorological fields over the Rocky Mountain region.

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

MEML: A Deep Data Augmentation Method by Mean Extrapolation in Middle Layers

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
Data augmentation, generating new data that are similar but not same with the original data by making a series of transformations to the original data, is one of the mainstream methods to alleviate the problem of insufficient data.
