Advances in Nonlinear AnalysisWe study the shape of solutions to certain variational problems in Sobolev spaces with weights that are powers of ∣x∣| x| . In particular, we detect situations when the extremal functions lack symmetry properties such as radial symmetry and antisymmetry.
