Embeddings into pseudocompact spaces of countable tightness

open access: yes, 2004
A method for embedding certain countable spaces into a pseudocompact Tychonoff space of countable tightness is given. In particular, this permits construction under [CH] of two pseudocompact Tychonoff spaces of countable tightness, one does not have ...

Ultra‐Confinement of Polaritons in Single Atomic Layer Ag Photonic Quantum Dots

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Strong confinement of surface phonon polaritons of silicon carbide was achieved in photonic quantum dots fabricated from van der Waals heterostructure of epitaxial graphene over single‐atomic layer silver. Scattering‐type scanning near‐field optical microscopy combined with an analytical approach, developed to reveal local propagation constants with ...

Complete Boolean Algebras and Extremally Disconnected Compact Spaces

open access: yes, 2014
We study the existence of special points in extremally disconnected compact topological spaces that witness their nonhomogeneity. Via Stone duality, we are looking for ultrafilters on complete Boolean algebras with special combinatorial properties.

Large‐Area 2D Metasurface‐Based Triboelectric E‐Skin Arrays: Contact & Proximity Tactile Mapping with Broadband Acoustic Readouts

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metasurface‐engineered NC‐TENG arrays integrate tactile pressure mapping, non‐contact gesture sensing, and acoustic signal readouts in one ultrathin module, and outperforms pristine PDMS in terms of electrical output and real‐time spatial mapping for next‐gen wearables.

Université Catholique de Louvain The Lattice of Domains of an Extremally Disconnected Space 1

open access: yes, 2008
Summary. Let X be a topological space and let A be a subset of X. Recall that A is said to be a domain in X provided IntA ⊆ A ⊆ IntA (see [24], [11]). Recall also that A is said to be a(n) closed (open) domain in X if A = IntA (A = IntA, resp.) (see e.g.

Neuromorphic Electronics for Intelligence Everywhere: Emerging Devices, Flexible Platforms, and Scalable System Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The perspective presents an integrated view of neuromorphic technologies, from device physics to real‐time applicability, while highlighting the necessity of full‐stack co‐optimization. By outlining practical hardware‐level strategies to exploit device behavior and mitigate non‐idealities, it shows pathways for building efficient, scalable, and ...

Rethinking Charge Transport and Recombination in Donor‐Diluted Organic Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Organic solar cells with 1–45% PM6 content in Y12 were studied to link structure and charge dynamics to performance. The conductivity follows a 3D percolation model without a sharp threshold. Donor dilution preserves the photogeneration yield, but limits the fill factor due to transport resistance losses.

Stone spaces I

open access: yes
The aim of this paper is to propose a categorical definition of extremally disconnected and Stone objects (spaces) in a topological category and examine the relationship between them. Moreover, we characterize each of Tk, k = 0, 1, 2, compact, extremally

A note on 𝑆-closed spaces

open access: yes, 1979
A topological space X is said to be S-closed if and only if for every semi-open cover of X there exists a finite subfamily such that the union of their closures cover X.

Pulsed Laser‐Assisted Phase Engineering of Multimetallic Colloidal Nanocrystals With Complex Compositions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The engineering of colloidal nanocrystals with complex compositions has emerged as a highly active area of research within nanomaterials science. This review covers key aspects of colloidal solid‐solution nanocrystal formation using pulsed laser irradiation.
