Commissioning evaluation of a deviceless 4DCT scanner

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The utilization of four‐dimensional computed tomography (4DCT) for radiation therapy has not seen major advances to the method of data binning since shortly after inception. Recently there is increased interest in the utilization of an alternative binning method rather than more established techniques.

An outer approximation algorithm for multi-objective mixed-integer linear and non-linear programming [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
In this paper, we present the first outer approximation algorithm for multi-objective mixed-integer linear programming problems with any number of objectives. The algorithm also works for certain classes of non-linear programming problems. It produces the non-dominated extreme points as well as the facets of the convex hull of these points.

Extreme programming and its positive affect on software engineering teams [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This paper presents an early empirical study on Extreme Programming (XP) practices employing Positive Affect metric. The study was conducted on university students doing development projects to gain an insight understanding of the effect of using agile ...

Shielding resources for four common radiopharmaceuticals utilized for imaging and therapy: Tc‐99m, F‐18, I‐131, and Lu‐177

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction The use of radioactive materials in the United States has been tightly regulated by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and other entities for many decades. In 2015, however, the Joint Commission began to require hospital‐based nuclear medicine departments to conduct shielding designs and evaluations for radioactive material areas ...

XP customer practices: A grounded theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The Customer is a critical role in XP, but almost all XP practices are presented for developers by developers. While XP calls for Real Customer Involvement, it does not explain what XP Customers should do, nor how they should do it. Using Grounded Theory,

Using deep learning generated CBCT contours for online dose assessment of prostate SABR treatments

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Prostate Stereotactic Ablative Body Radiotherapy (SABR) is an ultra‐hypofractionated treatment where small setup errors can lead to higher doses to organs at risk (OARs). Although bowel and bladder preparation protocols reduce inter‐fraction variability, inconsistent patient adherence still results in OAR variability.

Flexibility and resilience in equity-centered research: lessons learned conducting a randomized controlled trial of a family-based substance use prevention program for American Indian families

open access: yesFrontiers in Public Health
Meaningful and effective community engagement lies at the core of equity-centered research, which is a powerful tool for addressing health disparities in American Indian (AI) communities.

Correlation Clustering via Strong Triadic Closure Labeling: Fast Approximation Algorithms and Practical Lower Bounds [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Correlation clustering is a widely studied framework for clustering based on pairwise similarity and dissimilarity scores, but its best approximation algorithms rely on impractical linear programming relaxations. We present faster approximation algorithms that avoid these relaxations, for two well-studied special cases: cluster editing and cluster ...

The XP customer team: A grounded theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The initial definition of XP resulted in many people interpreting the on-site customer to be a single person. We have conducted extensive qualitative research studying XP teams, and one of our research questions was “who is the customer”?
