SummaryThree patients with essential hypoproteinaemia are described. In all of them, signs and symptoms suggested an intestinal lesion. In two of them a PVP test was performed and gave a pathological result. Our cases and those of others strongly support the hypothesis that many cases of unexplained hypoproteinaemia are caused by intestinal disease ...

Pediatrics, 1959
Loss of plasma protein into the gastrointestinal tract in the absence of actual bleeding has recently been demonstrated as a cause of "idiopathic hypoproteinemia." The euphonious name, "exudative enteropathy," has been used by Gordon to describe a group of nine patients, including a 2-year-old boy, whose common finding was hypoproteinemia due to loss ...

Pygmy Marmoset Exudate Feeding Stimulates Exudate Production
Folia Primatologica, 2021Exudates are an important renewable resource for many primates. Exudate renewability is based on observations of primates repeatedly depleting exudate sites and measures of exudate trees’ daily replenishment rates, but the role of the consumer in the renewal process is unclear.

The exudates or liquid droplets on various structures of a number of fungi were examined. The droplets were enveloped in membranous material and were associated with actively growing mycelia, including fruiting structures. Osmium tetroxide vapour-fixed droplets of Claviceps purpurea, Myrothecium roridum, Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, Sclerotium rolfsii ...

Familial Exudative Vitreoretinopathy
American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1979At age 26 years a woman who had been blind in the left eye from birth had visual acuity of R.E.: 6/18 (20/60); L.E.: 6/120 (20/400), with 40 prism diopters of left exotropia. The left eye showed a decreased anteroposterior diameter of the globe and a complete retinal detachment behind a cataractous lens.

Exudative Retinitis pigmentosa
Ophthalmologica, 1988Six persons with retinitis pigmentosa and exudative vasculopathy were observed within a group of 110 patients with retinitis pigmentosa seen during 5 years. Two new hypotheses are formulated in order to explain the origin of this relationship.

Nonstreptococcal Exudative Pharyngitis
JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1983To the Editor.— Having had many years ago a particular interest in group A streptococcal disease, I read the letter from "MD, Ohio" and Dr Montgomerie's response (1982;248: 1643). From the clinical description provided by the letter writer, I wondered whether the patient might not have had nonstreptococcal exudative pharyngitis.

Exudative retinal detachment develops when fluid collects in the subretinal space. The subretinal space between the photoreceptors and the retinal pigment epithelium is the remnant of the embryonic optic vesicle. In the developed eye the subretinal space is of minimal size, but it can reopen under pathological conditions that disrupt the integrity of ...

Familial exudative vitreoretinopathy
American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1996To evaluate the natural history of Familial Exudative Vitreoretinopathy (FEVR) with emphasis on the effect of the age of onset on its severity and on the development of late complications such as cataract and retinal detachment. Also, to evaluate affected patients for DNA abnormalities. The records of thirty-nine patients with FEVR were studied.

Dominant exudative vitreoretinopathy
Ophthalmic Paediatrics and Genetics, 1985Eleven Dutch families with dominant exudative vitreoretinopathy (DEVR) were studied. The findings in 81 affected members of these families are listed. DEVR is probably based on a late developmental disorder of the foetal retinal vascular system. This disease has changed our concepts of the pathogenesis of congenital retinal folds.
