Barriers and Facilitators for Implementing Resilience Coaching for Youth With Chronic Musculoskeletal Pain: Pediatric Rheumatologists’ Perspectives

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Promoting Resilience in Stress Management (PRISM) is a resilience coaching program designed for adolescents with chronic illness. We aimed to examine the perceived feasibility, acceptability, and appropriateness of PRISM among pediatric rheumatologists treating adolescents with chronic musculoskeletal pain and obtain recommendations for ...

Depth-induced Saliency Comparison Network for Diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease via Jointly Analysis of Visual Stimuli and Eye Movements [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Early diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is very important for following medical treatments, and eye movements under special visual stimuli may serve as a potential non-invasive biomarker for detecting cognitive abnormalities of AD patients. In this paper, we propose an Depth-induced saliency comparison network (DISCN) for eye movement analysis ...

Effects of Dalcroze Eurhythmics Exercise Versus Multicomponent Exercise on Physical and Cognitive Function, and Falls in Older Adults: The EPHYCOS Randomized Controlled Trial

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
In this randomized clinical trial conducted among 142 community‐dwelling older adults at high risk for falls over 12 months, a Dalcroze Eurhythmics exercise intervention (once weekly, group‐based) improved a variety of physical and cognitive/executive function outcomes compared with a multicomponent exercise intervention (twice weekly, group‐ and home ...

Classifying Dry Eye Disease Patients from Healthy Controls Using Machine Learning and Metabolomics Data [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Dry eye disease is a common disorder of the ocular surface, leading patients to seek eye care. Clinical signs and symptoms are currently used to diagnose dry eye disease. Metabolomics, a method for analyzing biological systems, has been found helpful in identifying distinct metabolites in patients and in detecting metabolic profiles that may indicate ...

Biologically‐Inspired Melt Electrowriting for the Generation of Highly Biomimetic Functional Myocardium

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, melt electrowriting is used to fabricate a 3D printed scaffold design that generates engineered cardiac tissues with in‐plane contraction, mimicking natural myocardium. It is shown that these tissues display advanced maturation and functionality.
