Field evaluations of thermal optics and tracking tunnels for small mammal surveys at airports and grass dominated habitats

Small mammal survey tools are needed at airports to help inform aircraft strike‐risk management. We evaluated thermal optics and tracking tunnels as small mammal survey tools. We conclude that thermal optics would not be a viable survey tool for mouse‐sized mammals (19‐41 g) at airfields and other thick grass habitats unless grass height was maintained

ABSTRACT In 1977, an Israeli transgender woman, Judy Spotheim, published an autobiographical novel entitled The Cut. It describes the emergence of a trans community in the commercial‐sex areas of Tel Aviv‐Jaffa, hoping to humanise trans women (coccinelles). This article is the first to study the novel and present a biography of Spotheim.
