Preparation and Thermal Modification of Disentangled Ultrahigh‐Molecular‐Weight Polyethylene Particles for Powder‐Based Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Ultrahigh‐molecular‐weight polyethylene powders (<≈40 μm) with a bulk density of 260 g L−1 are prepared from a silica supported bisimine pyridine iron catalyst. The nascent product is disentangled and can be thermally densified without loss of its low viscosity.

CALPHAD‐Guided Prediction and Interpretation of Phase Formation in Ta–Mo–Cr–Ti–Al Refractory High‐Entropy Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study designs Ta–Mo–Cr–Ti–Al refractory high‐entropy alloys with a disordered body‐centered‐cubic A2 crystal structure aiming for improved ductility, lower density, and oxidation resistance. Four alloy compositions are identified by thermodynamic calculations.

Marcus Gunn Jaw Winking Phenomenon - A case of the widening eye [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Marcus Gunn jaw winking phenomenon is a congenital synkinetic movement due to synkinesis between the upper eyelid and the pterygoids and it accounts for 8% of patients with congenital ptosis. In rare instances, ptosis may be absent.

Eye muscle proprioception is represented bilaterally in the sensorimotor cortex [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The cortical representation of eye position is still uncertain. In the monkey a proprioceptive representation of the extraocular muscles (EOM) of an eye were recently found within the contralateral central sulcus.

Internal cantholysis for full thickness eyelid defects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Eyelid reconstruction requires an understanding of normal eyelid anatomy and function. A thorough understanding of the basic anatomy, contour, and mobility of the eyelids is essential in restoring the tissue to its presurgical level.
