On the Design of Steep Optical Absorbers for Vacuum‐Processed Organic Solar Cells: One Isopropyl Group Makes the Difference

open access: yesSmall Science, Volume 6, Issue 5, May 2026.
A minor steric modification in molecular donors (DCV‐iPr vs DCV‐Me) leads to distinct packing motifs, which govern excitonic interactions and optical properties in vacuum‐processed organic solar cells. DCV‐iPr forms a brick‐wall, J‐like aggregated structure with sharp absorption and improved photovoltaic performance, whereas DCV‐Me exhibits H‐like ...

Quantum Chemistry Investigation of Linear and Nonlinear (chir)optical Properties of Oligoamide Foldamers

open access: yesChemistryEurope, Volume 4, Issue 4, April 2026.
The linear and nonlinear (chir)optical properties of four oligoamide foldamers with different donor groups are studied by means of time‐dependent density functional theory calculations. It is shown that stronger donors yield larger hyperpolarizabilities due to low‐lying charge–transfer states. The agreement with the experiments concerning the key bands

Predictability of North Pacific blocking events: Analogue‐based analysis of historical MIROC6 simulations

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, Volume 152, Issue 776, April 2026 Part A.
The predictability of western and eastern North Pacific blocking events is assessed using analogue‐based diagnostics. Eastern blocks exhibit lower predictability, characterized by faster error growth and higher mean logarithmic divergence rates. The study highlights geographical contrasts in blocking stability.
