Ewangoa, a new threatened Central African genus of Euphorbiaceae‐Acalyphoideae

open access: yesTAXON, Volume 75, Issue 2, April 2026.
Abstract A new morphologically divergent genus and species of Euphorbiaceae from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ewangoa cardiophora, is described and illustrated. This taxon is easily recognised by its leaf‐opposed inflorescences, which are surrounded by a single cordiform involucral bract. Molecular phylogenetic evidence shows that Ewangoa is a

Dental Implant Osseointegration Following Mandibular Augmentation Using 3D Printed Hydroxyapatite Blocks. An Experimental In Vivo Study

open access: yesClinical Oral Implants Research, Volume 37, Issue 2, Page 101-113, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the use and osseointegration of dental implants in combination with 3D‐printed hydroxyapatite (3DHA) blocks featuring gyroid porosity for large mandibular bone augmentation. Methods Mandibular lateral bone augmentation with gyroid‐3DHA blocks was performed bilaterally on four female Göttingen minipigs. After 8 or 12 weeks

Locus coeruleus activity while awake is associated with REM sleep quality in older individuals

open access: yesJCI Insight, 2023
BACKGROUND The locus coeruleus (LC) is the primary source of norepinephrine in the brain and regulates arousal and sleep. Animal research shows that it plays important roles in the transition between sleep and wakefulness, and between slow wave sleep and

Recombinant Proteins: A Molecular Tool to Understand Marine Adhesion and to Advance Biomaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 15, Issue 3, 19 January 2026.
The production of recombinant proteins represents a fundamental step in the characterisation of marine invertebrate adhesives and in the development of bio‐inspired glues. The association of these proteins with other components such as ions, proteins, polysaccharides, or polymers enables the fabrication of biomaterials for various healthcare ...

Modular Synthesis of Dihydropyranones through Cyclization and Organometallic Functionalization

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 28, Issue 48, December 22, 2025.
A scalable method for synthesizing 3‐methoxy‐4,5‐dihydropyran‐2‐ones (MeO‐DHP‐2‐ones) via base‐promoted cyclization of hydroxy alkynes is presented. Mechanistic and computational studies guided the transformation into 4,5‐dihydropyran‐4‐ones (DHP‐4‐ones), enabling access to spiroacetal precursors relevant to natural product synthesis.

Visual Artist, Craftsperson, Entrepreneur or … All in One? Identity Struggles and Juggles in Creative Crafts

open access: yesCreativity and Innovation Management, Volume 34, Issue 4, Page 806-834, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Social identity theories explain how identities intertwine with individuals' choices and behaviours. Simultaneously, an institutional context imposes constraints on people's agency due to the norms, habits and expectations it engrains. This is the case in the artistic realm, where numerous categorization norms remain implicit.
