Designing Molecular Solar Thermal Systems Based on the Paternò–Büchi Reaction Coupled to Enzymatic Energy Release

open access: yesChemSusChem, EarlyView.
Molecular solar thermal systems urge for innovative building blocks to increase their present limits in storage density and light activation window. Here, a complete computational study of loading and unloading mechanisms for an experimentally inspired system based on the Paternò–Büchi reaction is presented.

Comparative Study of Photopolymerized Gel Polymer Electrolytes Obtained via Thiol‐Ene Click Reaction for Li Metal Batteries

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
In the context of Li metal batteries, gel polymer electrolytes (GPEs) offer enhanced cell safety and the optimum compromise between mechanical and electrochemical properties. A thiol‐ene approach to the GPE production was employed, evaluating the effect of two different crosslinkers, as well as the crosslinking environment and the production method ...

Synthesis, characterization and antimicrobiological activity of copper(II) complexes containing ligands derived from azoles and coumarins

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Accepted Article.
Four Cu(II) complexes with coumarin‐derived ligands were synthesized and fully characterized, confirming a ratio of 1:1 ligand to metal. The complex C3 presented a geometry between square pyramid and trigonal bipyramid with a supramolecular arrangement ruled by hydrogen bonding.

Synthesis, Characterisation, Magnetic Properties, and DFT Investigations of Heterobimetallic Nickel‐Lanthanide LNiII LnIII (Ln = Ce, Gd, Tb, Dy) Complexes Supported by Schiff Base Ligands

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Accepted Article.
Four heterobimetallic complexes (Ln = Ce (2), Gd (3), Tb (4), and Dy (5), H2L= Schiff base ligand) were synthesized from LNi (1) precursor (H2L = ligand N, N’‐bis(3‐methoxysalicylaldiimine)‐1,3‐propylene‐2‐ol). Compound 2, which crystallizes in the tetragonal system, differs from the other isostructural 3, 4, and 5 congeners which crystallize in the ...
