Retention Characteristics of CBTi144 Thin Films Explained by Means of X-Ray Photoemission Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2010
CaBi4Ti4O15 (CBTi144) thin films were grown on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si substrates using a soft chemical solution and spin-coating method. Structure and morphology of the films were characterized by the X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared ...

Microplastics as a Silent Threat to Child Neurodevelopment: Evidence and Perspectives on Autism

open access: yesInternational Journal of Developmental Neuroscience, Volume 86, Issue 4, June 2026.
Microplastics and nanoplastics can likely cross various biological barriers and promote the development of oxidative stress and neuroinflammation, and they can also interfere with crucial events during brain development. Although none of these effects are causally linked to autism spectrum disorders, the microparticles and nanoparticles are the first ...

Plasmon‐Enhanced CO2 Methanation over Au@Ru/TiO2 via Nanoscale Control of Ru Shell Thickness

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 137, Issue 52, December 22, 2025.
Au@Ru core–shell nanoparticles on TiO2 integrate active Ru sites with Au plasmonic excitation. At 190 °C, 545 nm light boosts CO2 methanation rates by 335% while preserving >99% CH4 selectivity. The catalyst outperforms Ru/C and remains stable for 85 h, underscoring nanoscale shell engineering for efficient light‐assisted thermocatalysis.

trans-Bis(dimethyl sulfoxide-κO)bis(3-nitrobenzohydroxamato-κ2O,O′)zinc(II)

open access: yesIUCrData, 2019
Single crystals of the title complex, [Zn(C7H5N2O4)2(C2H6OS)2] or [Zn(NBZH)2(DMSO)2], were isolated from a dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) solution containing [Zn(NBZH)2]·2H2O (NBZH = 3-nitrobenzohydroxamate anion).

Modifying def2‐TZVPP: A Minimal Diffuse Addition for Reliable ΔE Versus ρ(BCP) Relationships in H‐Bonded Systems

open access: yesJournal of Computational Chemistry, Volume 47, Issue 14, 30 May 2026.
Minimal hydrogen‐centered diffuse functions improve the description of the hydrogen‐bond critical point. ABSTRACT Basis set quality has a relevant role in the electronic structure description of hydrogen‐bonded (H‐bonded) systems, particularly for properties sensitive to the electron density in low‐density intermolecular regions.

Reusable SERS Substrate Based on AuNP/PS‐b‐P2VP Nanocomposites With Photocatalytic Activity

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, Volume 57, Issue 5, Page 828-839, May 2026.
We developed a bifunctional SERS substrate by assembling AuNPs on PS‐b‐P2VP thin films, capable of both sensitive molecular detection and UV‐assisted self‐cleaning. The platform demonstrates excellent reusability over four adsorption–degradation cycles, driven by a hot‐hole‐mediated photocatalytic mechanism without semiconductors.

Gold nanoparticles covalently assembled onto vesicle structures as possible biosensing platform

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Nanotechnology, 2016
In this contribution a strategy is shown to covalently immobilize gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) onto vesicle bilayers with the aim of using this nanomaterial as platform for the future design of immunosensors.
