Dual Proximal Groups Concisely Representing Complex Hosoya Triangles

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematical Physics, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
This paper introduces dual proximal groups (DPGs) that provide concise representation of complex Hosoya triangles (CHTs). An application is given in terms of the DPG representation of collections of Hosoya‐Hilbert circular triangles on modulated motion waveforms in sequences of video frames. Comparison of Adulthood Outcomes in Autism Spectrum Disorder With and Without Regression: A Population‐Based Birth Cohort Study

open access: yesAutism Research, Volume 18, Issue 11, Page 2334-2344, November 2025.
ABSTRACT The long‐term outcomes of regression in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) remain unclear. Previous evidence suggests that autistic individuals with regression have poorer adulthood outcomes across various indices than those without regression. We compared two groups—those with and without regression in ASD—among 168 participants from a population‐

The Development of a Community‐Led Child Protection Approach in Low‐ and Middle‐Income Countries

open access: yesChild Abuse Review, Volume 34, Issue 6, November/December 2025.
ABSTRACT Child protection actors, including community members, work to prevent and respond to violence, abuse, neglect and the exploitation of children. Child protection approaches implemented by nongovernmental organisations (NGOs) and other agencies are often located in communities but are not led by those communities.

On Generalized Avicenna Numbers

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 48, Issue 14, Page 13300-13316, 30 September 2025.
ABSTRACT Avicenna numbers that we define in this paper, are a class of figurate numbers, including icosahedral, octahedral, tetrahedral, dodecahedral, rhombicosidodecahedral numbers and cubes, play a key role in mathematics, physics and various scientific fields.

Christian Bohr. Discoverer of Homotropic and Heterotopic Allostery

open access: yesActa Physiologica, Volume 241, Issue S734, July 2025.
ABSTRACT This essay recounts and revisits the scientific contributions of Christian Bohr, highlighting his pivotal role in discovering allostery about 120 years ago. Bohr's meticulous experimentation led to identifying two distinct forms of allostery: homotropic (single‐ligand) and heterotropic (multi‐ligand), the latter widely recognized as the Bohr ...

On One-Zero numbers: a new Horadam-type sequence

open access: yesIntermaths

Tools for relatedness: “Fetishes” in Burkina Faso and the work of enacted metaphors

open access: yesAmerican Anthropologist, Volume 127, Issue 2, Page 233-243, June 2025.
Abstract In West Africa, certain objects can act in the world and interact with people as subjects. Labeled “fetishes” by Europeans, these material things have generated centuries of debates on the nature of their agency. In this article, I rely on participant fieldwork as a student in a group of initiated donso hunters in Burkina Faso, which involved ...

Classification of area‐strict limits of planar BV homeomorphisms

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 111, Issue 6, June 2025.
Abstract We present a classification of area‐strict limits of planar BV$BV$ homeomorphisms. This class of mappings allows for cavitations and fractures but fulfil a suitable generalisation of the INV condition of Müller and Spector (Arch. Rational Mech. Anal. 131 (1995), no. 1, 1–66). As pointed out by J.

Clinical and Developmental Outcomes After 50 Years of Newborn Bloodspot Screening for Classical Galactosaemia in the Republic of Ireland

open access: yesJIMD Reports, Volume 66, Issue 3, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Classical Galactosaemia (CG) is an inborn error of carbohydrate metabolism. In untreated neonates, CG leads to a multi‐organ toxicity with life‐threatening symptoms. Newborn Screening for CG began in the Republic of Ireland in 1972. In Ireland, two forms of neonatal screening occur. High‐risk infants are fed lactose‐free/galactose‐free formula
