Diverging Liquid-Liquid Phase Separation Behavior of Different Recombinant Major Ampullate Spidroins. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Sci (Weinh)
Fibers spun from the MaSp1‐derivative as well as MaSp1‐MaSp2‐mixtures provide a deeper insight into the assembly process of the spidroins and how hierarchical architectures of spider silk fibers could be achieved. ABSTRACT Spider silk fibers show exceptional mechanical properties, based on their underlying spider silk proteins (spidroins) as well as a ...

Insights Into the Nature of Quantum Emitters in Electron-Irradiated Hexagonal Boron Nitride. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Sci (Weinh)
Hyperspectral imaging is used to identify quantum emitters hosted by the 2D material hexagonal boron nitride. By selecting specific emission wavelengths, one can distinguish individual emitters from ensembles and gain important insights into the atomic structure of these emitters.

Signaling Mutations Negate the Favorable Impact of NPM1 Mutations in Older Patients With Newly Diagnosed Acute Myeloid Leukemia Treated With VEN/HMA. [PDF]

open access: yesAm J Hematol
ABSTRACT Frameshift mutations in exon 12 of nucleophosmin 1 (NPM1 mut) are among the most common mutations in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and have historically been considered favorable‐risk in the absence of FLT3‐ITD. In the European LeukemiaNet (ELN) 2024 risk‐classification for patients treated with hypomethylating agents plus venetoclax (HMA + VEN)

Parameter Optimization on a Tessellation Model for Crack Pattern Simulation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
The capabilities of a parametric model for crack patterns simulation are presented. Planar tessellations are partitions of the plane into convex polygons (called cells) without overlapping. The Voronoi tessellations and Poisson line tessellations are the

Time-resolved functional analysis of acute impairment of frataxin expression in an inducible cell model of Friedreich ataxia

open access: yesBiology Open, 2016
Friedreich ataxia is a neurodegenerative disease caused by a GAA triplet repeat expansion in the first intron of the frataxin gene, which results in reduced expression levels of the corresponding protein.
