Vaccinia protein F12 has structural similarity to kinesin light chain and contains a motor binding motif required for virion export.

open access: yesPLoS Pathogens, 2010
Vaccinia virus (VACV) uses microtubules for export of virions to the cell surface and this process requires the viral protein F12. Here we show that F12 has structural similarity to kinesin light chain (KLC), a subunit of the kinesin-1 motor that binds ...

Data supporting the investigation of interaction of biologically relevant proteins with ZnO nanomaterials: A confounding factor for in vitro toxicity endpoints

open access: yesData in Brief, 2019
Test materials, like manufactured nanomaterials (MN), may interact with serum proteins, interleukins (IL) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and cause measurement artefacts as a result of e.g., physical adsorption and electrostatic forces, and/or ...

Characterization of Fluorescence Tracers for Thermometry and Film Thickness Measurements in Liquid Coolants Relevant for Thermal Management of Electric and Electronic Components

open access: yesSensors, 2022
This study investigated a novel two-color LIF (laser-induced fluorescence) technique for thermometry in coolants relevant for electric components. In principle, this diagnostic enables thermometry in liquid flows but also a simultaneous determination of ...

Mortality, morbidity, and predictors of death among amphetamine-type stimulant users − a longitudinal, nationwide register study

open access: yesAddictive Behaviors Reports
Introduction: Use of amphetamine-type stimulants (ATS) contributes substantially to the global burden of disease. Large-scale follow-up studies of morbidity and mortality in ATS users are few.

Heats of formation of the amino acids re-examined by means of W1-F12 and W2-F12 theories [PDF]

open access: yesTheoretical Chemistry Accounts, 2014
We have obtained accurate heats of formation for the twenty natural amino acids by means of explicitly correlated high-level thermochemical procedures. Our best theoretical heats of formation, obtained by means of the ab initio W1-F12 and W2-F12 thermochemical protocols, differ significantly (RMSD = 2.3 kcal/mol, maximum deviation 4.6 kcal/mol) from ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Homozygous missense variant F12 (Gly506Asp) associated with severe factor XII deficiency: a case report

open access: yesJournal of Medical Case Reports, 2023
Background Factor XII deficiency can be related to either homozygous or compound heterozygous pathogenic variants in the F12 gene. The disease is commonly known as Hageman trait and is inherited in both autosomal recessive or dominant patterns ...
