Experimental Analysis and Physics‐Based Analytical Model on Twisted and Coiled Artificial Muscles

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 2, January 21, 2026.
Twisted and coiled artificial muscles made from silver‐coated nylon fibers are investigated through experiments and analytical modeling. The actuators achieve contractions up to 19.3% and specific work of 8 kJ kg−1, though efficiency remains limited (≈0.15%) by thermal losses.

Dietary protein to starch metabolizable energy ratios alter growth performance and gastrointestinal microbiota of calves

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2023
The diet structure is very important for the growth and development of calves. This study aimed to investigate the effects of dietary protein-to-starch metabolizable energy ratios (DPSRs) on growth performance, blood index, and gastrointestinal ...

The role of interference in unraveling the ZZ-couplings of the newly discovered boson at the LHC

open access: yes, 2013
We present a general procedure for measuring the tensor structure of the coupling of the scalar Higgs-like boson recently discovered at the LHC to two Z bosons, including the effects of interference among different operators. To motivate our concern with

Long‐Term Trends in Parkinson's Disease and Associated Mental Health Disorders: Insights From the CDC WONDER Database, 1999–2023

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Background The U.S. population is aging with an increasing burden of Parkinson's disease (PD) and its frequent co‐occurring mental health disorders. However, mortality trends related to PD and these comorbid mental health disorders among older adults remain understudied.

Harvesting Value! Exploring How Climate‐Smart Agriculture Practices Change Farm Business Models in Europe

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, Volume 35, Issue 1, Page 777-789, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Climate‐smart agriculture (CSA) is essential for sustainable farming. However, the adaptation of farm business models (BM) for widespread CSA implementation in Europe remains underexplored. This article investigates how CSA practices change or innovate farm BMs.

On the theory of cavities with point-like perturbations. Part II: Rectangular cavities

open access: yes, 2010
We consider an application of a general theory for cavities with point-like perturbations for a rectangular shape. Hereby we concentrate on experimental wave patterns obtained for nearly degenerate states. The nodal lines in these patterns may be broken,

New Anthracenone and Xanthenones From Tricholaena teneriffae With Antioxidant Activity: In Vitro and In Silico Studies

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 1, January 2026.
Three novel phenolic compounds and one known benzoxanthenone are isolated from Tricholaena teneriffae. Compounds (1–3) demonstrate potent antioxidant activity, comparable to that of vitamin C, while compound (4) exhibits negligible activity. Docking studies are employed to validate the binding of the compounds to lipoxygenase‐3, providing evidence of ...

Freshwater amphibians and squamates from Villeveyrac (lower Campanian; Hérault, France): palaeodiversity, palaeoenvironment and implications for the Late Cretaceous palaeobiogeography of the European herpetofauna

open access: yesPapers in Palaeontology, Volume 12, Issue 1, January/February 2026.
Abstract The Late Cretaceous witnessed numerous transgression–regression sequences and the onset of a global cooling phase at the start of the Campanian. In the European archipelago, these environmental changes, combined with active plate tectonics, facilitated the formation of ephemeral land bridges that served as dispersal routes for a variety of ...

Frobenius Manifolds And Virasoro Constraints

open access: yes, 1999
For an arbitrary Frobenius manifold a system of Virasoro constraints is constructed. In the semisimple case these constraints are proved to hold true in the genus one approximation. Particularly, the genus $\leq 1$ Virasoro conjecture of T.Eguchi, K.Hori,
