Susceptibility of Phthorimaea absoluta (Meyrick) (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) to novel and established insecticides in Brazil: resistance survey, baseline, and implications for management

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Baseline susceptibility of Phthorimaea absoluta to novel insecticides isocycloseram and tolfenpyrad was established in Brazil. Diagnostic doses were proposed for early resistance detection. Early tolfenpyrad tolerance and abamectin‐driven cross‐tolerance to isocycloseram via oxidases highlight cross‐resistance risks, emphasizing the need for routine ...

A comment on free-fermion conditions for lattice models in two and more dimensions [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
We analyze free-fermion conditions on vertex models. We show --by examining examples of vertex models on square, triangular, and cubic lattices-- how they amount to degeneration conditions for known symmetries of the Boltzmann weights, and propose a ...

Knock knock, who's there? Identifying wild species‐specific fish sounds with passive acoustic localization and random forest models

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Passive acoustic monitoring (PAM) is a useful non‐destructive tool for evaluating species presence, diversity and abundance. However, in marine environments, a dearth of tools and methods for identifying wild, species‐specific fish calls makes quantitative PAM assessments for specific fish species challenging.

DNA Sequence Determinants Controlling Affinity, Stability and Shape of DNA Complexes Bound by the Nucleoid Protein Fis. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The abundant Fis nucleoid protein selectively binds poorly related DNA sequences with high affinities to regulate diverse DNA reactions. Fis binds DNA primarily through DNA backbone contacts and selects target sites by reading conformational properties ...

Lossless Information‐Based Dimensionality Reduction of Comprehensive Features With a Deep Variational Autoencoder Enables Early‐Life Prediction of Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesCarbon Neutralization, Volume 5, Issue 1, January 2026.
This paper presents a dimensionality reduction approach that minimizes feature redundancy while retaining essential information, simplifying subsequent model training. Starting with a complete feature set to capture aging characteristics, we reduced it to 10 key features, resulting in a maximum reconstruction mean squared error (MSE) of 0.02139.

De-Dollarisation in International Payments: Trend or Fiction

open access: yesECONOMICS
The present research paper is focused the widely debated topic related to de-dollarization. It examines the trend of de-dollarization to check if the statements that the dollar is losing its weight and is about to lose its leading position in ...

First Kepler results on compact pulsators VIII: Mode identifications via period spacings in $g-$mode pulsating Subdwarf B stars

open access: yes, 2011
We investigate the possibility of nearly-equally spaced periods in 13 hot subdwarf B (sdB) stars observed with the Kepler spacecraft and one observed with CoRoT. Asymptotic limits for gravity (g-)mode pulsations provide relationships between equal period

High Velocity Molecular Outflows In Massive Cluster Forming Region G10.6-0.4

open access: yes, 2010
We report the arcsecond resolution SMA observations of the $^{12}$CO (2-1) transition in the massive cluster forming region G10.6-0.4. In these observations, the high velocity $^{12}$CO emission is resolved into individual outflow systems, which have a ...
