Prevalence of anti‐beta‐1 antibody 6 months after hospitalization for acute heart failure predicts adverse outcome

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, 2023
Aims Agonistic antibodies against neurohumoral receptors can induce cardio‐noxious effects by altering the baseline receptor activity. To estimate the prevalence of autoantibodies directed against the beta‐1 receptor (b1‐AAB) in patients admitted to the ...

Mycotoxin Decontamination Efficacy of Atmospheric Pressure Air Plasma

open access: yesToxins, 2019
Mycotoxins, the toxic secondary metabolites of mould species, are a growing global concern, rendering almost 25% of all food produced unfit for human or animal consumption, thus placing immense pressure on the food supply chain. Cold Atmospheric pressure

Evaluation of Chemical Compositions, Antioxidant Capacity and Intracellular Antioxidant Action in Fish Bone Fermented with Monascus purpureus

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
Fish bones (FBs) are aquatic by-products that are sources of antioxidant-active peptides, calcium dietary supplements, and biomedical materials. Usually, fermentation of these by-products via microorganisms brings desirable changes, enhancing their value.

Synthesis and Bioactivities of Marine Pyran-Isoindolone Derivatives as Potential Antithrombotic Agents

open access: yesMarine Drugs, 2021
2,5-Bis-[8-(4,8-dimethyl-nona-3,7-dienyl)-5,7-dihydroxy-8-methyl-3-keto-1,2,7,8-teraahydro-6H-pyran[a]isoindol-2-yl]-pentanoic acid (FGFC1) is a marine pyran-isoindolone derivative isolated from a rare marine microorganism Stachybotrys longispora FG216 ...

Directed gold nanoparticle synthesis with plasma-activated water

open access: yesMaterials & Design
Plasma-activated water (PAW) enables surfactant-free synthesis of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) at room temperature and acts as a reaction medium with tuneable reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (ROS and RNS), decoupled from the plasma discharge. Treating

Phosphoproteomic analysis on ovarian follicles reveals the involvement of LSD1 phosphorylation in Chicken follicle selection

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2023
Background Follicle selection in chickens refers to the process of selecting one follicle from a group of small yellow follicles (SY, 6–8 mm in diameter) for development into 12–15 mm hierarchal follicles (usually F6 follicles), which is controlled by ...

Avidin is evolutionarily conserved in fish but dispensable for development and resistance against Streptococcus agalactiae in zebrafish

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The presence of biotin‐binding avidin proteins in fish and their biological significance are poorly characterized. We cataloged fish avidins and demonstrate that they are widely present and evolutionarily conserved. We created avd knockout zebrafish and show that zebavidin is dispensable for development and that resistance of avd knockout embryos in ...

Adaptive anti‐myocardial immune response following hospitalization for acute heart failure

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, 2021
Aims It has been hypothesized that cardiac decompensation accompanying acute heart failure (AHF) episodes generates a pro‐inflammatory environment boosting an adaptive immune response against myocardial antigens, thus contributing to progression of heart

Printed SWCNT‐Based p–n Junction Thin‐Film Near‐Infrared Photoresistors Enabled by a Sustainable Furan‐Derived π‐Conjugated Polymer

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A sustainable polymer–carbon nanotube bilayer enables efficient near‐infrared photodetection in a simple lateral planar p–n junction thin‐film architecture. Thermal side‐chain cleavage enhances interfacial coupling, shifts the dominant photoresponse from 800 to 1000 nm, and substantially improves device performance.

Sustained-release solid dispersion of pelubiprofen using the blended mixture of aminoclay and pH independent polymers: preparation and in vitro/in vivo characterization

open access: yesDrug Delivery, 2017
The present study aimed to develop the sustained-release oral dosage form of pelubiprofen (PEL) by using the blended mixture of 3-aminopropyl functionalized-magnesium phyllosilicate (aminoclay) and pH-independent polymers.
