Keeping Pace or Falling Behind? The Depth of Latin American Trade Agreements

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article examines whether Latin American countries are keeping pace with global trends in trade agreement depth or falling behind. Using 681 agreements (1970–2019), we develop the Depth Index of Trade Agreements (DITA) to weight provisions endogenously through factor analysis based on co‐occurrence patterns.

f(R) Theories

open access: yesLiving Reviews in Relativity, 2010
Over the past decade, f(R) theories have been extensively studied as one of the simplest modifications to General Relativity. In this article we review various applications of f(R) theories to cosmology and gravity – such as inflation, dark energy, local

Disentangling the relationships between denomination of origin regulatory councils activities and Spanish wineries' export performance

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
Abstract World markets for quality differentiated agri‐food products are highly competitive, presenting significant challenges for firms aiming to compete effectively. Government agencies and business organizations often implement various export promotion policies to address these challenges.

Traceability of Agri‐Food Products: The Key to Conscious Trade

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Globalization and growing concerns about sustainability have led to improvements in product traceability, quality, and sustainability. Traceability contributes to environmental protection and supports sustainable development by fostering transparency in agricultural practices and encouraging the responsible use of resources.

f(R) gravity with spacetime torsion

open access: yes
The duality between a higher curvature $f(R)$ gravity model and a scalar-tensor theory helps to bring out the role of the additional degree of freedom originating from the higher derivative terms in the gravity action.

Closed time-like curves in f(R,A) modified gravity theory

open access: yes
In this manuscript, we investigate solutions that allow closed time-like curves (CTCs) in general relativity (GR) within the framework of a modified gravity theory. We consider here an alternative theory recently proposed in gravity theories known as f(R,

Do Politically Motivated Import Bans Leave Lasting Scars? Evidence From Australian–Chinese Beef Trade

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In May 2020, China abruptly suspended imports from several major Australian beef processors, escalating a diplomatic dispute between the two countries. This trade measure disrupted one of the largest beef export relationships in the world almost overnight.

Gravitational waves in f (R,T) and f (R,Tφ) theories of gravity

open access: yes, 2018
There is a host of alternative theories of gravitation in the literature, among them the f(R,T) and f(R,Tφ) theories recently elaborated by Harko et al. In these theories, R, T and Tφ are respectively the Ricci scalar and the traces of the energy-momentum tensors of matter and of a scalar field. There is already in the literature a series of studies of

Pesticide MRLs as Trade Barriers: Evidence From Vietnam's Coffee and Rice Exporters

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT As tariffs have declined globally through bilateral and regional trade agreements, food safety standards have emerged as significant determinants of agricultural trade flows. This study examines the impact of maximum residue limits (MRLs) for five pesticides—Azoxystrobin, Chlorpyrifos, Chlorantraniliprole, Clothianidin, and Cyhalothrin—on ...
