Temperature-compensated cryogenic Fabry–Perot cavity

Applied Optics, 1997
We show that temperature compensation based on differential thermal expansion between sapphire and fused silica can be used to create a Fabry-Perot cavity with an exceptionally low coefficient of thermal expansion at low temperatures. We describe the design of such a cavity that utilizes shaped fused silica mirrors and a sapphire spacer.

Terahertz Fabry-Perot Cavity Leaky-wave Antennas

2019 PhotonIcs & Electromagnetics Research Symposium - Spring (PIERS-Spring), 2019
In this work we examine the recent efforts made in the design of either efficient or reconfigurable Fabry-Perot cavity leaky-wave antennas (FPC-LWAs) in the terahertz (THz) range. We start by discussing the radiating performance of an FPC-LWA consisting of a grounded dielectric slab (GDS) covered with a periodic arrangement of fishnet-like unit cells ...

Prototype Michelson interferometer with Fabry–Perot cavities

Applied Optics, 1991
We describe a rigid, internally modulated Michelson interferometer with Fabry-Perot cavities in the interferometer arms. The high contrast (0.986) and the small cavity losses (2.7%) permit efficient use of the light power available. The measured shot-noise-limited displacement sensitivity for 35mW of light power is 2.5 x 10(-17) m radicalHz, in good ...

Fabry-Perot cavity hydrostatic pressure sensors

SPIE Proceedings, 2014
Interferometric fiber optic based sensors, namely those based on the Fabry-Perot (F-P) configuration seem very attractive for biomechanical and biomedical applications. The present study is focused on the proof of concept of two developed FP based sensors, for high and low pressure measurements of fluids.

Photon/spin echo in a Fabry–Perot cavity

Optics Letters, 2022
The pulse area theorem is a well-known versatile analytical tool for capturing the general nonlinear nature of light propagation in a two-level medium. Here we derive the pulse area theorem for the photon/spin echo signal generated in a one-side cavity.
