Performance of a dual Fabry–Perot cavity refractometer

Optics Letters, 2015
We have built and characterized a refractometer that utilizes two Fabry-Perot cavities formed on a dimensionally stable spacer. In the typical mode of operation, one cavity is held at vacuum, and the other cavity is filled with nitrogen gas. The differential change in length between the cavities is measured as the difference in frequency between two ...

Low‐profile circularly polarized fabry–perot cavity antenna

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2016
ABSTRACTThe modeling and characterization of a low‐profile circularly polarized directive antenna is reported. The proposed structure designed to operate near 2.1 GHz is evolved from a Fabry–Perot (FP) cavity with a patch antenna acting as the feed.

Double‐cavity fiber Fabry‐Perot tunable filter

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2010
AbstractA double‐cavity fiber Fabry‐Perot tunable filter is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. There are two cavities in the tunable filter. The two cavities have close properties, and are driven by same piezoelectric transducers. One cavity is used to scan wavelength, and another one is used to calibrate the wavelength. The double‐cavity filter

Dual-cavity fiber Fabry-Perot interferometric sensor

2009 14th OptoElectronics and Communications Conference, 2009
We present a compact fiber-optic sensor based on a dual-cavity Fabry-Perot interferometer. As a potential application of the proposed sensor, simultaneous measurement of refractive index and temperature is experimentally demonstrated.

Cavity QED in microsphere and Fabry-Perot cavities

2003
A long-standing ambition in the field of cavity quantum electrodynamics has been to trap single atoms inside high-Q cavities in a regime of strong coupling. Our goal has been to develop techniques for trapping that are compatible with strong coupling and that do not interfere with the cavity QED interactions.

Fabry-Perot Cavities in Advanced Virgo

2018
So far the working principle of the Advanced Virgo detector has been presented, as well as a detailed overview of its different subsystems. This chapter will give a detailed description of the Advanced Virgo Fabry-Perot arm cavities, introducing the basic concepts needed to understand the challenges of their commissioning.

A new fiber Fabry-Perot cavity sensor

SPIE Proceedings, 2007
A new optical fiber Fabry-Perot (F-P) cavity sensor for liquid level detection was developed. The end of a flexible metal bellows, which can sustain a large strain displacement, is suggested to be one surface of the F-P cavity. Both electronic hardware and demodulation scheme in software were developed for fringes counting and direction discrimination ...

Optimization of a Fabry-Perot cavity antenna

2015 International Workshop on Antenna Technology (iWAT), 2015
We propose a new method to increase both an antenna input reflection coefficient (S11) and overall efficiency of a Fabry-Perot cavity (FPC) antenna. In general, the FPC antenna consists of a partially reflective superstrate and a metal ground plane. By finding optimum arrangement of unit cells in the superstrate, we prove that we can largely widen an ...
