Micromachined Double‐Membrane Mechanically Tunable Metamaterial for Thermal Infrared Filtering

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 6, Issue 5, May 2025.
Herein, a mechanically tunable double‐layer plasmonic metamaterial leveraging the extraordinary optical transmission effect observed in subwavelength arrays of openings within thin metal layers is presented. The concept is experimentally validated by integrating the proposed metamaterial structure into an electrostatic parallel‐plate actuator to create

Three-port beam splitters-combiners for interferometer applications

open access: yes, 2006
We derive generic phase and amplitude coupling relations for beam splitters-combiners that couple a single port with three output ports or input ports, respectively.

The Role of Interactions in an Electronic Fabry-Perot Interferometer Operating in the Quantum Hall Effect Regime [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Interference of edge channels is expected to be a prominent tool for studying statistics of charged quasiparticles in the quantum Hall effect (QHE) [A. Stern (2008), Ann. Phys. 1:204; C. Chamon et al. (1997), Phys. Rev. B, 55:2331].

Atomically Resolved Electron Reflectivity at a Metal/Semiconductor Interface

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An atomically flat interface is achieved in the incoherent Al/Ge heterostructure using molecular beam epitaxy (MBE). Scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) reveals a laterally periodic modulation of electron reflectivity with atomic resolution at the commensurate Al/Ge interfacial lattice, originating from the local electronic states.

The many facets of the Fabry-Perot [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We address the response, both in amplitude and intensity, of a Fabry-Perot from a variety of viewpoints. These complementary pictures conspire to achieve a comprehensive and consistent theory of the operation of this system.Comment: 15 pages, 9 ...

Temperature-insensitive fiber optic Fabry-Perot interferometer based on special air cavity for transverse load and strain measurements.

open access: yesOptics Express, 2017
We experimentally demonstrate transverse load and strain sensing based on a fiber optic Fabry-Perot interferometer (FPI) with special air cavity, which was created by fusion splicing single mode fiber (SMF), hollow core fiber (HCF) and several electrical

Pressure and Temperature Sensor Based on Fiber-Optic Fabry-Perot Interferometer by Phase Demodulation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
A phase demodulation of dual-cavity fiber-optic Fabry-Perot interferometer based on open-cavity and silica-cavity was proposed and experimentally demonstrated for pressure and temperature sensing. In contrast to the commonly used wavelength demodulation,

Analysis of parametric oscillatory instability in Fabry-Perot cavity with Gauss and Laguerre-Gauss main mode profile

open access: yes, 2009
We calculate the parametric instabilities in Fabry-Perot cavities of Advanced VIRGO and LIGO interferometers with different main mode profiles. All unstable combinations of elastic and Stokes modes both for the case with TEM00 and LG33 as a carriers are ...
