Empirical Assessment of Storm‐Time Thermospheric Density Inversion Methods From LEO POD Data

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 13, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract Thermospheric mass density is one of the largest sources of operational uncertainty for spacecraft in low Earth orbit, particularly during geomagnetic storms. The growing population of Global Navigation Satellite System‐equipped satellites presents a data set of opportunity: precise orbit determination (POD) data streams can be used to ...

Seasonal Forecasts of pH and Aragonite Saturation for the Bering Sea Shelf

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, Volume 131, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract The number of numerical model forecasts of ocean environmental conditions has greatly expanded in recent years, including biogeochemical variables. Forecasts can provide marine resource managers with advance warning of extreme events such as heatwaves and hypoxia, though forecast products are scarcer in high‐latitude environments.

A Contrasting TEC Behavior Over the Low‐Latitude Post‐Midnight Sector During Recovery Phases of May and October 2024 Storms: Possible Role of PPEF, DDEF, and O/N2

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 131, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract The present study reports on the variability of the post‐midnight ionosphere over the low‐latitude sector during the recovery phases of the May and October 2024 storms. Multi‐instrument observations, comprising global navigation satellite system total electron content (TEC), F‐layer peak height, electron density profiles, and column O/N2 ...

Endothelial AGGF1 Deficiency Causes Mitochondrial Dysfunction and Contributes to Age‐Elevated Blood Pressure

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 8, August 2026.
Endothelial AGGF1 deficiency contributes to early vascular aging and age‐elevated blood pressure via inhibiting the SESN2/p‐eNOS pathway. Age‐dependent AGGF1 attenuation reduces its binding to the SESN2 promoter. SESN2 downregulation induces mitochondrial respiratory dysfunction and elevated mitochondrial ROS, thereby reducing eNOS phosphorylation ...

Effectiveness of Family Interventions in Bipolar Disorder: A Systematic Review

open access: yesBipolar Disorders, Volume 28, Issue 5, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Bipolar disorder (BD) is a chronic mental health condition characterized by extreme mood swings, which significantly affects both the individual and their family system. Given the psychosocial impact of BD on families, family interventions (FI) have emerged as a promising approach to improve treatment outcomes.

Interindividual variability in static apnoea performance is partly explained by genetic factors

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, Volume 111, Issue 8, Page 3718-3730, 1 August 2026.
Abstract A large interindividual variability exists in maximal apnoea duration and the physiological adjustments that occur during apnoea. Although a few genes have been found to be associated with some of the cardiovascular responses during apnoea, the extent to which genetic and environmental factors contribute to individual differences in apnoea ...

Contribution of Aloft Gravitational Sorting and Lower‐Part Coalescence to Precipitation Over the Southeastern Tibetan Plateau

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 14, 28 July 2026.
Abstract Observational constraints on the vertical microphysical evolution of mixed‐phase precipitation across the melting layer over the high‐altitude of southeastern Tibetan Plateau remain scarce. Using collocated two‐dimensional video disdrometer and Micro Rain Radar measurements in rainy seasons of 2022–2025, we characterize the vertical ...

Enhanced Transport in Organic Semiconductors Mediated Through Interfacial Charge Transfer and Cooperative Strong Coupling

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 14, 27 July 2026.
Here, we experimentally demonstrate the effect of cooperative strong coupling to improve the electron mobility of an organic semiconductor. This is achieved by strong coupling between a highly absorbing organic dye and an organic semiconductor in a MOSFET cavity configuration. Our findings suggest the flexibility of applying cooperative strong coupling

Inverse‐Designed Silicon Nitride Bimodal Mode Converter for Interferometric Sensors

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 14, 27 July 2026.
Inverse‐designed bimodal mode converters are demonstrated on two silicon nitride platforms. The devices convert the fundamental mode into near‐balanced pairs of the fundamental and higher‐order modes up to the third order. They are compact and fabrication‐tolerant. Characterization of a bimodal interferometer incorporating these converters demonstrates
