Factorization of the Ising model form factors [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics A: Mathematical and Theoretical, 2011
We present a general method for analytically factorizing the n-fold form factor integrals $f^{(n)}_{N,N}(t)$ for the correlation functions of the Ising model on the diagonal in terms of the hypergeometric functions $_2F_1([1/2,N+1/2];[N+1];t)$ which appear in the form factor $f^{(1)}_{N,N}(t)$.

Making tau amyloid models in vitro: a crucial and underestimated challenge

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This review highlights the challenges of producing in vitro amyloid assemblies of the tau protein. We review how accurately the existing protocols mimic tau deposits found in the brain of patients affected with tauopathies. We discuss the important properties that should be considered when forming amyloids and the benchmarks that should be used to ...

Digital archetypes: a tool for understanding personality characteristics in the digital culture

open access: yesHumanities & Social Sciences Communications, 2023
In different organizational areas, the theories and tools of archetypes have been very important to know the interests, strengths and weaknesses of each member of the work teams, as well as the main aspects to be considered to develop their greatest ...

The intracellular domain of TLR2 is capable of high‐affinity Zn binding: possible outcomes for the receptor activation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Toll‐like receptors (TLRs) are important in the innate immune system. This study explores the zinc‐binding ability of the TLR2 TIR domain (TLR2TIR). We found that TLR2TIR binds zinc with nanomolar affinity through its cysteine residues. Two of them, C673 and C713, are vital for receptor activation, indicating that zinc may play a role in initiating ...

Hepatocyte growth factor, a key tumor-promoting factor in the tumor microenvironment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The tumor microenvironment plays a key role in tumor development and progression. Stromal cells secrete growth factors, cytokines and extracellular matrix proteins which promote growth, survival and metastatic spread of cancer cells.

The distribution of the number of factors in a factorization

open access: yesJournal of Number Theory, 1987
AbstractA factorization of a positive integer n, here, is a specification of m(d), the power to which d occurs in Π dm(d) = n; order is immaterial. The number of factors in a factorization has two natural interpretations: as Σ m(d) or as the number of nonzero m(d), that is, counting or not counting multiplicity.

The power of microRNA regulation—insights into immunity and metabolism

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
MicroRNAs are emerging as crucial regulators at the intersection of metabolism and immunity. This review examines how miRNAs coordinate glucose and lipid metabolism while simultaneously modulating T‐cell development and immune responses. Moreover, it highlights how cutting‐edge artificial intelligence applications can identify miRNA biomarkers ...

Power distribution and Q-factor analysis of diffuse cellular indoor visible light communication systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Comparing with the existing incandescent, light-emitting diodes (LEDs) offer higher power efficiency, higher brightness, longer lifetime, and have a fast dynamic response in the order of a few megahertz.

Four-loop quark form factor with quartic fundamental colour factor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We analytically compute the four-loop QCD corrections for the colour structure $(d_F^{abcd})^2$ to the massless non-singlet quark form factor. The computation involves non-trivial non-planar integral families which have master integrals in the top sector.
