Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) accounts for half of the heart failure cases. It is characterised by microvascular dysfunction, associated with reduced pericyte coverage and diminished STAT3 expression in pericytes. Loss of STAT3 impairs pericyte adhesion, promotes senescence, and activates a pro‐fibrotic gene program.

The Analytic Process of Q Methodology [PDF]
The purpose of this article is to describe the analytic process of a method of data collection known as Q Methodology. This method is an alternative method in collecting data especially suited to research on “points of views” (Coogan & Herrington, 2011 ...

We achieved cytoplasmic delivery of non‐cell‐penetrating IgGs by grafting a single functional complementarity‐determining region 1 (CDR1) from the light chain variable region (VL) of the cell‐internalizable 3D8 antibody. The engineered IgG acquired cell‐penetrating ability while maintaining antigen affinity, highlighting CDR1 grafting as a promising ...

Refinement of Two-Factor Factorizations of a Linear Partial Differential Operator of Arbitrary Order and Dimension [PDF]
Given a right factor and a left factor of a Linear Partial Differential Operator (LPDO), under which conditions we can refine these two-factor factorizations into one three-factor factorization? This problem is solved for LPDOs of arbitrary order and number of variables. A more general result for the incomplete factorizations of LPDOs is proved as well.

The number of circulating tumor cells obtained from prostate cancer patients was increased approximately 5‐fold compared to regular CellSearch when processing 2 mL diagnostic leukapheresis material aliquots and increased by 44‐fold when processing 20 mL DLA aliquots using the flow enrichment target capture Halbach‐array.

Contrastive Factor Analysis [PDF]
Factor analysis, often regarded as a Bayesian variant of matrix factorization, offers superior capabilities in capturing uncertainty, modeling complex dependencies, and ensuring robustness. As the deep learning era arrives, factor analysis is receiving less and less attention due to their limited expressive ability.

Urine is a rich source of biomarkers for cancer detection. Tumor‐derived material is released into the bloodstream and transported to the urine. Urine can easily be collected from individuals, allowing non‐invasive cancer detection. This review discusses the rationale behind urine‐based cancer detection and its potential for cancer diagnostics ...

GFA: Exploratory Analysis of Multiple Data Sources with Group Factor Analysis [PDF]
The R package GFA provides a full pipeline for factor analysis of multiple data sources that are represented as matrices with co-occurring samples. It allows learning dependencies between subsets of the data sources, decomposed into latent factors. The package also implements sparse priors for the factorization, providing interpretable biclusters of ...
