Revisiting the identification and cDNA cloning of T cell-replacing factor/interleukin-5
This is a perspective based on the paper Cloning of complementary DNA encoding T cell replacing factor and identity with B cell growth factor II, by Kinashi T, Harada N, Severinson E, Tanabe T, Sideras P, Konishi M, Azuma C, Tominaga A, Bergstedt ...

Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor B and Its Signaling
In diabetes, compromised glucose utilization leads the heart to use FA almost exclusively for ATP generation. Chronically, this adaptation unfortunately leads to the conversion of FA to potentially toxic FA metabolites. Paired with increased formation of

Factor B and C4b2a Autoantibodies in C3 Glomerulopathy
C3 Glomerulopathy (C3G) is a renal disease mediated primarily by dysregulation of the alternative pathway of complement. Complement is the cornerstone of innate immunity.

Lipopolysaccharide and tumor necrosis factor regulate Parkin expression via nuclear factor-kappa B. [PDF]
Inflammation and oxidative stress have been implicated in the pathophysiology of Parkinson's disease (PD) and inhibition of microglial activation attenuates degeneration of dopaminergic (DA) neurons in animal models of PD.

Nuclear Factor-Kappa B Regulation of Osteoclastogenesis and Osteoblastogenesis [PDF]
Maintenance of skeletal integrity requires the coordinated activity of multinucleated bone-resorbing osteoclasts and bone-forming osteoblasts. Osteoclasts form resorption lacunae on bone surfaces in response to cytokines by fusion of precursor cells ...

Rap1 Is Essential for B-Cell Locomotion, Germinal Center Formation and Normal B-1a Cell Population
Integrin regulation by Rap1 is indispensable for lymphocyte recirculation. In mice having B-cell-specific Rap1a/b double knockouts (DKO), the number of B cells in lymph nodes decreased to approximately 4% of that of control mice, and B cells were present

Placenta growth factor and vascular endothelial growth factor B expression in the hypoxic lung
Background Chronic alveolar hypoxia, due to residence at high altitude or chronic obstructive lung diseases, leads to pulmonary hypertension, which may be further complicated by right heart failure, increasing morbidity and mortality. In the non-diseased

Transcription factor NF‐κB in glomerulonephritis [PDF]
SUMMARY:It is becoming increasingly evident that the transcription factor, nuclear factor‐kappa B (NF‐κB) is at the heart of the inflammatory response in all tissues, including the kidney. Studies in both human glomerulonephritis and experimental disease models provide either direct or circumstantial evidence for the activation of NF‐κB.

AbstractFor integers a and b such that 0 ⩽ a ⩽ b, a graph G is called an [a, b]-graph if a ⩽ dG(x) ⩽ b for every vertex x of G and a factor F of a graph is called an [a, b]-factor if a ⩽ dF(x) ⩽ b for every vertex x of F. We prove the following theorems. Let 0 ⩽ l ⩽ k ⩽ r, 0 ⩽ s, 0 ⩽ u and 1 ⩽ t.
