TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

The PI3Kδ inhibitor roginolisib (IOA‐244) preserves T‐cell function and activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Identification of novel PI3K inhibitors with limited immune‐related adverse effects is highly sought after. We found that roginolisib and idelalisib inhibit chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) cells and Treg suppressive functions to similar extents, but roginolisib affects cytotoxic T‐cell function and promotion of pro‐inflammatory T helper subsets to a

Targeting p38α in cancer: challenges, opportunities, and emerging strategies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
p38α normally regulates cellular stress responses and homeostasis and suppresses malignant transformation. In cancer, however, p38α is co‐opted to drive context‐dependent proliferation and dissemination. p38α also supports key functions in cells of the tumor microenvironment, including fibroblasts, myeloid cells, and T lymphocytes.

Correlation of the differential expression of PIK3R1 and its spliced variant, p55α, in pan‐cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PIK3R1 undergoes alternative splicing to generate the isoforms, p85α and p55α. By combining large patient datasets with laboratory experiments, we show that PIK3R1 spliced variants shape cancer behavior. While tumors lose the protective p85α isoform, p55α is overexpressed, changes linked to poorer survival and more pronounced in African American ...

Hemophilia B (Factor IX Deficiency)

Hematology/Oncology Clinics of North America, 2021
The biology of factor IX deficiency leading to hemophilia B has important distinctions from factor VIII deficiency that leads to hemophilia A. In this article, the authors explore the unique biology of factor IX in hemostasis, including the importance of FIX distribution to the extravascular space and the implications on dosing of factor concentrates ...

Endogenous Inhibitors of Factor B

Microbiology and Immunology, 1983
AbstractProteins which were able to bind noncovalently with mouse factor B were found in cells that are nonsecretors of factor B such as mouse‐established monocytic cells and L cells but not in peritoneal resident macrophages. These proteins were isolated from lysates of L cells and separated into four distinct proteins by preparative SDS ...

‘B-cell factors’ are pleiotropic

Immunology Today, 1988
Abstract For many years, it was believed that the soluble factors produced by T cells which regulate B-cell proliferation and differentiation were specific to B lymphocytes. But this theory has been largely overturned lately: far from being B-cell specific, B-cell factors influence a wide variety of cell types.

Factor B Reference Typing Report

Complement and Inflammation, 1990
In a factor B (BF) Reference Typing of the VIth Complement Genetics Workshop and Conference, Mainz, FRG, 1989, 99 samples from 13 laboratories, including 18 families, were investigated with the majority of presently known typing procedures. Among the major ('standard') allotypes BF SO4 was found to be new.

FIRO-B: FACTORS AND FACETS

Psychological Reports, 2000
10 FIRO–B intercorrelation matrices were factor analysed; one matrix was derived from new FIRO–B data, all the other matrices were found in the literature. The correlation matrices were also subjected to meta-analysis. The findings suggested that the four FIRO–B scales associated with Inclusion and Affection are facets of the ubiquitous interpersonal ...
