Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

A factorization method for identification of Volterra systems

open access: yes, 2002
A factorization method is proposed for identification of Volterra systems of order n and analyses the stability of the systems constructed by this method. An optimization method is also suggested to generate optimal systems which minimize system response

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

RICCATI EQUATION, FACTORIZATION METHOD AND SHAPE INVARIANCE

open access: yes, 2000
The basic concepts of factorizable problems in one-dimensional Quantum Mechanics, as well as the theory of Shape Invariant potentials are reviewed. The relation of this last theory with a generalization of the classical Factorization Method presented by

Analysis of the factorization method for a general class of boundary conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
SubmittedInternational audienceWe analyze the factorization method (introduced by Kirsch in 1998 to solve inverse scattering problems at fixed frequency from the farfield operator) for a general class of boundary conditions that generalizes impedance ...

On the Minres Method of Factor Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Scientific and Statistical Computing, 1985
Implementation and convergence properties by a minimum residuals Gauss- Seidel algorithm of the factor analysis problem: \[ _{C}\| C-\hat C\|,\quad \hat C=AA^ T,\quad z=Af+u, \] are investigated. Account is taken of the constraints \(\sum^{m}_{p=1}a^ 2_{jp}\leq 1\) in the block Gauss algorithm.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

The Factorization Method with Linear Motions

open access: yes, 1999
In this paper we describe the factorization method with linear motions. We design an unified representation of scene structure and moving objects by assuming that the objects are moving linearly and with constant speeds.

Finite Difference Methods for Option Pricing under Lévy Processes: Wiener-Hopf Factorization Approach

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2013
In the paper, we consider the problem of pricing options in wide classes of Lévy processes. We propose a general approach to the numerical methods based on a finite difference approximation for the generalized Black-Scholes equation.
