Two-Dimensional Joint Acquisition of Doppler Factor and Delay for MC-DS-CDMA in LEO Satellite System

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite systems have received considerable attentions for its advantages and potential applications in global communication. Yet LEO satellite-ground communication is challenged by the huge Doppler shift.

A Theorem on the Asymptotic Outage Behavior of Fixed-Gain Amplify-and-Forward Relay Systems

open access: yes, 2014
A theorem that describes the high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) outage behavior of fixed-gain amplify-and-forward (FGAF) relay systems is given. Qualitatively, the theorem states that the outage probability decays according to a power law, where the power ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Multisensor decentralized nonlinear fusion using adaptive cubature information filter.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
In nonlinear multisensor system, abrupt state changes and unknown variance of measurement noise are very common, which challenges the majority of the previously developed models for precisely known multisensor fusion techniques.

High-SIR Transmission Capacity of Wireless Networks with General Fading and Node Distribution

open access: yes, 2010
In many wireless systems, interference is the main performance-limiting factor, and is primarily dictated by the locations of concurrent transmitters. In many earlier works, the locations of the transmitters is often modeled as a Poisson point process ...

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Factors contributing to transient-induced fading: Examining the impact of luminance contrasts and subjective contours

open access: yesi-Perception
Transient-induced fading is a phenomenon where a peripheral target perceptually fades when a surrounding object is flashed. It has been suggested that the transient-induced fading could be affected not only by the lower-level factors such as the ...

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Basroparib inhibits YAP‐driven cancers by stabilizing angiomotin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Basroparib, a selective tankyrase inhibitor, suppresses Wnt signaling and attenuates YAP‐driven oncogenic programs by stabilizing angiomotin. It promotes AMOT–YAP complex formation, enforces cytoplasmic YAP sequestration, inhibits YAP/TEAD transcription, and sensitizes YAP‐active cancers, including KRAS‐mutant colorectal cancer, to MEK inhibition.

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...
