Numerical generation of omnistrain failure envelopes
Traditional failure criteria for composites are usually formulated in material coordinates and depend on all three inplane stresses, hence failure evaluation depends on the ply angle. The omnistrain failure envelope describes the most critical failure envelope in strain space irrespective of ply orientation.

3D FAILURE ENVELOPE OF A SINGLE PILE IN SAND [PDF]
Pile foundations are widely used in geotechnical and offshore engineering. When subjected to a combination of horizontal, vertical forces and bending moments, a 3D failure envelope is necessary in order to evaluate the safety of the pile-soil system. We present a study on the failure envelope of a single elastic pile in sand. In order to find it in the

Undrained capacity of foldable mudmats under combined V-M loading
The foldable mudmat rigidly connected by two adjacent foundations is a new type of infrastructure used in subsea production systems. During service, the stress state is a multi-degree of freedom-combined loading mode, and the bearing characteristics are ...

The Tsai-Wu failure criterion rationalised in the context of UD composites [PDF]
This paper is to rationalise the empirical aspect of the Tsai-Wu failure criterion in the context of UD composites associated with the determination of the interactive strength property F12 based on the analytic geometry. It reveals that the condition of
