Multi‐Functional ZnO–Te Heterojunction Devices Enabling Compact Frequency Quadrupler

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Wafer‐scale ZnO–Te heterojunction devices featuring tunable double negative differential transconductance (D‐NDT) are demonstrated at ≤ 200°C. Leveraging this unique characteristic, a single‐stage frequency quadrupler is realized, achieving a 64%–75% reduction in device count.

Unlocking Photodetection Mode Switching from a Simple Lateral Design

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A simple lateral 2D perovskite photodetector capable of switching among transient, continuous, and dual transient/continuous photoresponse modes is achieved by integrating photoconductive effects with capacitive coupling from the SiO2/Si substrate. Such light‐programmable photodetection mode switching enables triple‐channel information transmission and

Magnetothermal‐Triggered Response and Self‐Healing of Recyclable and Reprocessable Nanocomposites for Actuation Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Developing recyclable materials for magnetic robotics that combine rapid response and self‐healing properties is challenging. Hence, this study focuses on the integration of magnetothermal nanoparticles into a dynamic sorbitol‐based vitrimer, a recyclable composite capable of remote actuation and self‐healing by magnetic heating.

Chirality and Organization of Adsorbates Modify Surface Phonon Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Chirality and molecular organization are shown to influence surface phonon dynamics in gold films. Time‐resolved Joule heating measurements reveal that ordered homochiral monolayers increase the Debye temperature and disordered layers reduce it, while ordered racemic controls have no effect.

Counter-Current Gas-Liquid Film Cross-Flow for the Staggered Tube Bundles in Closed Wet Cooling Towers

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2018
This work establishes a three-dimensional CFD model that is capable of describing the counter-current air-water flow across a staggered tube bundle in a bench-scale wet cooling tower (CWCT) by combining the VOF multiphase method and the SST k-ω ...

interThermalPhaseChangeFoam—A framework for two-phase flow simulations with thermally driven phase change

open access: yesSoftwareX, 2016
The volume-of-fluid (VOF) approach is a mature technique for simulating two-phase flows. However, VOF simulation of phase-change heat transfer is still in its infancy.

Copolymers of Poly(Butylene Trans‐1,4‐Cyclohexanedicarboxylate)/Pripol as New Biomaterial Platform for Small Diameter Vascular Graft

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Electrospun tubular scaffolds from novel PBCE‐based copolyesters and blends were designed as candidates for small‐diameter vascular grafts. They combine defect‐free architecture, blood‐compatible surfaces, and mechanical properties comparable to native vessels.
