Diagnostic Accuracy of Transvaginal Ultrasound for Endometriosis Does Not Differ Between Women Undergoing Their First Versus Any Subsequent Surgical Treatment

open access: yesAustralian and New Zealand Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Volume 66, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Australian endometriosis guidelines recommend transvaginal ultrasound (TVUS) as the first‐line investigation for endometriosis. Where endometriosis has been surgically treated, there is a risk of recurrent disease and repeat surgery.

A single centre multidisciplinary team retrospective review of fifty cases of robot‐assisted surgery for diaphragmatic and thoracic endometriosis

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, Volume 105, Issue 8, Page 1614-1622, August 2026.
Robot‐assisted multidisciplinary surgery enables safe, efficient, and comprehensive treatment of diaphragmatic and thoracic endometriosis. Evaluation of DTE in specialized centers, in a multidisciplinary fashion, allows for patient‐centered operative planning and could avoid missed disease or incomplete management.

Menopausal hormone therapy after ovarian cancer: A 10‐year survival analysis in premenopausal women

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, Volume 105, Issue 8, Page 1468-1479, August 2026.
Among premenopausal women surgically treated for ovarian cancer, no difference in 10‐year overall survival was observed between postoperative MHT users and non‐users. Young ovarian cancer survivors should be recommended MHT after surgically induced menopause.

Effect of opportunistic salpingectomy at hysterectomy on anti‐Müllerian hormone: A substudy of a randomized trial

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, Volume 105, Issue 8, Page 1480-1489, August 2026.
Noninferiority of opportunistic salpingectomy during benign hysterectomy compared with hysterectomy‐only concerning ovarian function measured by anti‐Müllerian hormone 1 year after surgery could not be declared. Studies with clinical outcomes related to ovarian function are still needed.

Mutational Signature‐Based Biomarker for Phase II Trial of Olaparib Maintenance in Advanced High‐Grade Ovarian Cancer

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 117, Issue 8, Page 2259-2273, August 2026.
A whole‐exome sequencing–based mutational signature biomarker (MSBM) identified an HRD‐enriched population in advanced ovarian cancer. In a phase II trial, olaparib maintenance suggested clinically meaningful PFS benefit without bevacizumab, supporting MSBM as a complementary HRD assessment approach.

MTAP Deficiency as a Metabolic Vulnerability in Cancer: Implications for Synthetic Lethal Therapy

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 117, Issue 8, Page 2085-2097, August 2026.
MTAP deletion creates a therapeutically actionable metabolic vulnerability through MTA accumulation and PRMT5 dependency. This review summarizes the biochemical basis of MTAP‐directed synthetic lethality, emerging PRMT5/MAT2A inhibitors, clinicogenomic features of MTAP‐deleted tumors, and future strategies for precision oncology.
