Effects of Magnetic Fields on Proto-Neutron Star Winds

open access: yes, 2005
We discuss effects of magnetic fields on proto-neutron star winds by performing numerical simulation. We assume that the atmosphere of proto-neutron star has a homogenous magnetic field (ranging from ~10^{12} G to ~10^{15} G) perpendicular to the radial ...

Genotypic and phenotypic characteristics of Cronobacter species, with particular attention to the newly reclassified species C. helveticus, C. pulveris, and C. zurichensis [forthcoming] [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In 2013, Enterobacter helveticus, E. pulveris and E. turicensis, were reclassified as Cronobacter helveticus, C. pulveris and C. zurichensis, respectively. Previously these species had been used as negative controls for some Cronobacter detection assays.

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Observation of Ground-State Two-Neutron Decay [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Neutron decay spectroscopy has become a successful tool to explore nuclear properties of nuclei with the largest neutron-to-proton ratios. Resonances in nuclei located beyond the neutron dripline are accessible by kinematic reconstruction of the decay ...

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Combinatorial CRISPR-Cas9 screens for de novo mapping of genetic interactions. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We developed a systematic approach to map human genetic networks by combinatorial CRISPR-Cas9 perturbations coupled to robust analysis of growth kinetics.

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Analysis of signalling pathways using continuous time Markov chains [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We describe a quantitative modelling and analysis approach for signal transduction networks. We illustrate the approach with an example, the RKIP inhibited ERK pathway [CSK+03].
