A Machine Vision‐Guided Microphysiological Platform With Automated Microfluidics Enables Longitudinal Biomarker Monitoring and Emulation of Translationally Relevant Exposure Scenarios

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A pneumatically actuated multi‐tissue microphysiological system is integrated with AI‐based machine vision and automatic sampling and replenishment systems. The platform allows for the emulation of translationally relevant long‐term pharmacokinetic exposure scenarios for multiple weeks while enabling longitudinal monitoring of response biomarkers ...

Methods of Detecting Meat Species in Food of Animal Origin

open access: yesBulletin of University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca: Food Science and Technology, 2018
An important factor in the detection of falsification is the control of the composition of the meat at each stage of manufacturing the product. The PCR method is based on the study of proteins and meat nucleic acids used in food for the detection of ...

DETECTION OF PORK IN SOME MEAT PRODUCTS [PDF]

open access: yesVeterinary Medical Journal - Giza, 1991
Trials for diagnosis of meat species in meat products were carried out since long time. Ostertage (1934) recommended three methods for differentiation of animal proteins; the complpment fixation test, anaphylactic test and precipitation reaction.

High‐Density E. Coli Cultivation Arrays for Combinatorial Drug Testing With Subsequent Lipid Profiling by MALDI‐MS

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
High‐throughput antibiotic cross‐gradient assays on microdroplet arrays. A multichannel printhead together with five pressure regulators forms droplet arrays of up to 20 832 droplets within 25 minutes. Each droplet contains unique concentrations of antibiotics, allowing to moniture a vast spectrum of bacterial repsonses over night. The bacterial growth

Asymmetric Single‐Atom Catalysts Govern Diffusible and Non‐Diffusible Non‐Radical Pathways for Selective Degradation of Antibiotic Resistance Genes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Asymmetric single‐atom metal‐nitrogen‐carbon catalysts modulate the non‐radical pathway during peroxymonosulfate (PMS) activation. A fundamental contrast was revealed between diffusible singlet oxygen (1O2) and non‐diffusible electron‐transfer pathways (ETP) in antibiotic resistance gene (ARG) degradation.

Evaluating a new proposal for detecting data falsification in surveys

open access: yesStatistical Journal of the IAOS, 2016
A recent paper [1] proposed a new detection method for data falsification in surveys called the maximum percent match statistic. The statistic measures the maximum percentage of questions on which each respondent matches any other respondent in the dataset. The authors argue that valid survey data should have few respondents that match on more than 85%

Analysis of Human Electrocardiogram for Biometric Recognition

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2007
Security concerns increase as the technology for falsification advances. There are strong evidences that a difficult to falsify biometric trait, the human heartbeat, can be used for identity recognition.

Toward Material‐Specific Peptides From in Silico Guided Peptide Engineering to Target PET in the Presence of PS

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents a computational–experimental strategy to engineer material‐binding peptides toward polymer specificity. Molecular dynamics simulations identified residues driving polystyrene binding, enabling targeted substitutions that greatly reduced polystyrene affinity while preserving PET binding.

Non‐Invasively Quantitative Raman Imaging for Calculation of Lymphatic Transport Kinetics of Micelles in Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Non‐invasively quantitative Raman imaging with stacking‐induced charge transfer‐enhanced Raman scattering (SICTERS) enables accurate measurement of concentrations and pharmacokinetic modeling of lymphatic transport of micelles in mice. This platform allows dynamic analysis of nanoparticle transport and underpins the design of effective lymph node ...
