On problems related to crossing families

open access: yesCoRR, 2019
Given a set of points in the plane, a \emph{crossing family} is a collection of segments, each joining two of the points, such that every two segments intersect internally. Aronov et al. [Combinatorica,~14(2):127-134,~1994] proved that any set of $n$ points contains a crossing family of size $Ω(\sqrt{n})$.

Leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models for Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cancer immunotherapy faces challenges in predicting treatment responses and understanding resistance mechanisms. Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) offer powerful solutions for cancer immunotherapy in patient stratification, biomarker discovery, treatment strategy optimization, and foundation model development.

Psychotherapists’ self-protective attachment strategies

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology
Attachment describes how people use relationships to cope with exposure to danger. That function is central to psychotherapy. This study used the Adult Attachment Interview (DMM-AAI) to compare psychotherapists’ attachment strategies to those of patients

Extended Laplace-Runge-Lentz vectors, new family of superintegrable systems and quadratic algebras

open access: yes, 2018
We present a useful proposition for discovering extended Laplace-Runge-Lentz vectors of certain quantum mechanical systems. We propose a new family of superintegrable systems and construct their integrals of motion.

Mapping the “Supply–Demand–Flow” of Ecosystem Services for Ecosystem Management in China

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops a “supply–demand–flow” framework clarifies how ecosystem services move between regions by distinguishing potential and actual supply and demand. Using integrated biophysical–socioeconomic modeling, nine services in China were mapped.

Arc Consistency and Friends

open access: yes, 2011
A natural and established way to restrict the constraint satisfaction problem is to fix the relations that can be used to pose constraints; such a family of relations is called a constraint language.

The Trichinella Super‐Pangenome Reveals the Evolution of Encapsulation and Predicted Host–Parasite Protein Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The muscle capsule of Trichinella is a critical structure that impedes immune attacks and drug penetration, yet the molecular mechanisms underlying its formation remain poorly understood. Using a high‐quality super‐pangenome comprising 12 Trichinella species, we compared extensive genomic variations between encapsulating and non‐encapsulating ...

Intergenerational Transmission in a Bidirectional Context

open access: yesPsychologica Belgica, 2013
