Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

ETHNIC FEATURES OF INFLUENCE OF FAMILY VALUES OF PARENTAL FAMILIES ON FORMATION OF STRUCTURE OF FAMILY VALUES IN YOUNG FAMILIES

open access: yesSovremennye Issledovaniâ Socialʹnyh Problem, 2013
The article deals with methodological approaches to a problem of classification of family values. Authors provide a classification of family values structure from medical and social positions: material values (money, financial position, living conditions)

The Impact of the Family Values Crisis on Children’s Right to Education: An Islamic Legal Principles Perspective in Addressing the Challenges of the Modern Era

open access: yesel-Aqwal
The crisis of values within the family has become one of the primary challenges in fulfilling children's educational rights, particularly in shaping the character of early childhood in the midst of modernization, globalization, and technological ...

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

The Fisher-Rao metric for projective transformations of the line [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
A conditional probability density function is defined for measurements arising from a projective transformation of the line. The conditional density is a member of a parameterised family of densities in which the parameter takes values in the three ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

FAMILY VALUES IN THE MAINTENANCE OF LOCAL/HOME LANGUAGE [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Family is part of a social and cultural group. It is from the family a new member of a society has learned his/her first word. Family’s decision to choose local or national language at home to be socialized to the children is one significant contribution
