Biomimetic Adaptive Hydrothermal Balance Fabric‐Based Dual‐Interface Solar Evaporator for Efficient and Stable Desalination

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study combines the biological structure of octopuses with the “3D structure” of spacer fabrics to fabricate a dual‐interface solar evaporator with adaptive hydrothermal balance. Water adaptation is achieved through the differentiated design of the upper and lower layers, and dynamic hydrothermal balance is realized by dynamically regulating the ...

Association between early exposure to famine and risk of renal impairment in adulthood: a systematic review and meta-analysis

open access: yesNutrition & Diabetes
Malnutrition early in life increases the later-life risk of noncommunicable diseases, and previous epidemiologic studies have found a link between famine and renal impairment, but no consensus has been reached.

Systematic Metabolic Engineering and Model‐Guided Optimization for High‐Level Production of L‐Theanine From Xylose in Escherichia Coli

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study is pioneering in constructing the shortest known synthetic pathway for L‐theanine production from xylose within E coli. Through comprehensive metabolic engineering strategies, our engineered strain achieved the highest reported L‐theanine titer from xylose, with a titer of 95.42 g/L, and a yield of 0.55 g/g.

Engineering Immune Cell to Counteract Aging and Aging‐Associated Diseases

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review highlights a paradigm shift in which advanced immune cell therapies, initially developed for cancer, are now being harnessed to combat aging. By engineering immune cells to selectively clear senescent cells and remodel pro‐inflammatory tissue microenvironments, these strategies offer a novel and powerful approach to delay age‐related ...

Systematic Engineering of Proteases in Saccharopolyspora Spinosa Reveals Synergistic Enhancement of Spinosad Biosynthesis via Substrate Flux Optimization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ARTP mutagenesis yielded Saccharopolyspora spinosa mutant D184 with improved extracellular nitrogen utilization. An integrated workflow of protease genetic manipulation, multi‐omics, and rational synergy design pinpointed a pepP‐clpP‐htpX synergistic triangular combination.

Early-life famine exposure may modify the association between long-term temperature variability and cardio-cerebrovascular diseases: a nationwide study

open access: yesEnvironmental Research: Health
We aimed to evaluate whether the association between long-term temperature variability (TV) and cardio-cerebrovascular diseases (CCVDs) was affected by famine exposure in different age stages. We used data from the fourth national urban and rural elderly
