Closed‐Loop Radiative Cooling Mulch Upcycled From Agricultural Residues for Efficient Soil Heat–Water Stress Mitigation

Conventional passive radiative cooling films rely on costly feedstocks and energy‐intensive fabrication, with poor end‐of‐life compatibility in agriculture. To address this challenge, a sustainable radiative cooling mulch (SRCM) is developed from waste maize leaves via spontaneous hydrogen‐bond self‐assembly.

Vestiges of famine: Long-term mortality impacts of early-life exposure to the 1840s famine in Estonia

The paper investigates whether exposure to a famine in the Russian Tsarist Province of Livland in 1844–1846 in early life negatively affected survival at later ages, using individual data from two rural parishes. We follow 18 birth cohorts born between 1834–1852 until age 75 and differentiate between timing and length of exposures.

A Highly Hydrophilic Air Electrode With Water‐Induced Surface Reconstruction for Efficient Reversible Protonic Ceramic Cell at Low Water Partial Pressures

This work demonstrates a new strategy for reversible protonic ceramic cells (R‐PCCs). By developing highly hydrophilic oxides, efficient operation is achieved under low water vapor pressures while maintaining high performance and stability. This approach addresses the challenge of hydrogen production in freshwater‐scarce regions.
