Tunable Oscillating Fano Spectra in a Fiber Taper Coupled Conical Microresonator

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2019
Tunable oscillating Fano spectra are demonstrated theoretically and experimentally in a fiber taper coupled conical microresonator for the first time.

Ultralow‐Backscattering Induced Mode Splitting in Chipscale Valley Photonic Topological Cavities

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, Volume 20, Issue 12, 18 June 2026.
The proposed in‐situ metrology based on mode splitting quantifies the ultralow backscattering of topological valley edge states at a single sharp corner, demonstrating near‐lossless topological transport (0.09 dB/corner) on a silicon chip. This work provides insight into the robustness of the photonic valley system and shows the great potential of ...

Directional Fano Resonance in a Silicon Nanosphere Dimer

open access: yes, 2016
Fano resonance arising from the interaction between a broad “bright” mode and a narrow “dark” mode has been widely investigated in symmetry-breaking structures made of noble metals such as plasmonic asymmetric oligomers or other well-designed ...

Spectroscopic Ellipsometry of Conducting Anisotropic Pedot thin Films

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, Volume 47, Issue 11, 5 June 2026.
We measure the optical response of poly[3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene] thin films through the combination of polarized photon spectroscopies (variable‐angle ellipsometry, UV–mid‐IR reflectance and transmittance) and wide‐angle X‐ray scattering, revealing anisotropic optical response and conductivity and enabling structural modelling of chain and π‐system ...

Linear and nonlinear Fano resonance on two-dimensional magnetic metamaterials

open access: yes, 2011
We demonstrate that both linear and nonlinear Fano resonances can be realized on two dimensional magnetic metamaterials. The Fano resonance comes from the interference between localized magnetic plasmon resonance and propagating surface plasmon ...

Shape of Fano resonance line spectra calculated for silver nanorods

open access: yes, 2011
Using theoretical tools, we numerically demonstrated Fano line shapes in the scattering spectra of silver rods resulting from different mechanisms. One of the Fano line shapes is due to the coupling of an in-plane quadrupole and a dipole mode in a single

Quasi‐BIC and Reflective Mode Coupling Drives SHG Beyond the Q Factor Limit

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 32, 8 June 2026.
An analytical expression is developed to relate second‐harmonic generation to both the resonance Q factor and absorptance. Simulations and experiments on a dual‐resonance 3R‐MoS2 metasurface validate the formula, showing that absorptance engineering provides an effective route to enhance SHG beyond conventional Q‐only design.

Fano resonance in Raman scattering of graphene

open access: yes, 2013
Fano resonances and their strong doping dependence are observed in Raman scattering of single-layer graphene (SLG). As the Fermi level is varied by a back-gate bias, the Raman G band of SLG exhibits an asymmetric line shape near the charge neutrality ...

A new Fano resonance in measurement processes

open access: yes, 2015
In a wave resonant scattering process the interference of the continuous scattering amplitude with a discrete resonant state, both of the same undulatory nature, gives rise to a Fano resonance profile.

Fano Resonant Sensing in MIM Waveguide Structures Based on Multiple Circular Split-Ring Resonant Cavities

open access: yesMicromachines
In this work, a non-through metal–insulator–metal (MIM) waveguide capable of exciting three Fano resonances was designed and numerically studied using the finite element method.
