Quasi‐BIC and Reflective Mode Coupling Drives SHG Beyond the Q Factor Limit

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 32, 8 June 2026.
An analytical expression is developed to relate second‐harmonic generation to both the resonance Q factor and absorptance. Simulations and experiments on a dual‐resonance 3R‐MoS2 metasurface validate the formula, showing that absorptance engineering provides an effective route to enhance SHG beyond conventional Q‐only design.

Symmetry breaking with coupled Fano resonances

open access: yesOptics Express, 2008
We describe the effect of symmetry breaking in a system with two coupled Fano resonators. A general criterion is derived and optimal parameter regions for switching are identified. By extending the single resonator behavior we show that one achieves the effect at very low input powers.

Giant Enhancement of the Anomalous Transverse Magneto‐Optical Kerr Effect in a Magneto‐Optical Grating

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 10, 27 May 2026.
We demonstrate an indirect magneto‐optical coupling mechanism that overrides the symmetry‐induced suppression of s‐polarized TMOKE. A quasi‐two‐dimensional grating coordinates orthogonal resonances to establish a near‐zero reflection background and maximal near‐field asymmetry, achieving a theoretical‐limit TMOKE of ∼2.

On the computations of decay widths of Fano resonances

open access: yes, 2017
International audienceIn this paper we present an ab initio approach to the computation of decay widths of Fano resonances. The method relies on Fano theory, in which a resonance is described as a bound state embedded in and interacting with a continuum ...

Control of Multiple Fano Resonances Based on a Subwavelength MIM Coupled Cavities System

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In this paper, we investigate and analyze numerically and theoretically a coupled plasmonic resonant system by using finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method and multimode interference coupled-mode theory (MICMT), respectively.

Acoustic Topological Fano Resonances

open access: yes
We report the observation of acoustic topological Fano resonance, and demonstrate their robustness to im- perfections. By going beyond the performance degradations caused by inadvertent flaws occurring during fabrication process, such topologically ...

Fano resonances in optical waveguide lattices

open access: yes, 2019
