Odd Magneto-Optical Linear Dichroism in a Magnetophotonic Crystal
The phenomena of magneto-optical polarization rotation and circular magnetic dichroism are well known in the Faraday configuration. We present another effect, an odd magneto-optical linear dichroism, arising in nanostructures with polarization-dependent ...

Scandium (Sc)‐doped AlCoCrFeMo HEA coatings are fabricated via flame spraying with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt% Sc additions. Among these, the HEA‐Sc0.3 coating exhibits the highest corrosion resistance, indicated by a more positive corrosion potential and lower current density.

This study applies machine learning regression to predict chromium layer thickness in decorative trivalent chromium electroplating, using 441 experiments from laboratory‐scale (1L) and pilot‐scale (14L) setups. Tree‐based models, particularly CatBoost, outperformed linear regression by capturing nonlinear parameter interactions (R2$R^2$ up to 0.77 ...

Faraday-Rotation in Iron Garnet Films Beyond Elemental Substitutions
In previous decades significant efforts have been devoted to increasing the magneto-optical efficiency of iron garnet materials for the miniaturization of nonreciprocal devices such as isolators and circulators.

Co‐delivery of electrosprayed EDOT and oxidant enables bulk oxidative polymerization during layer‐by‐layer fabrication, creating stable, highly conductive 3D PEDOT structures. This Atomized Oxidative Polymerization (AOP) overcomes the surface deposition‐only and matrix‐limited conductivity of conventional Vapor Phase Polymerization (VPP) and PEDOT:PSS ...

Quantum theory of the inverse Faraday effect
We provide a quantum theoretical description of the magnetic polarization induced by intense circularly polarized light in a material. Such effect-commonly referred to as the inverse Faraday effect-is treated using beyond-linear response theory ...

3-D Low Earth Orbit Vector Estimation of Faraday Rotation and Path Delay
An electromagnetic wave propagating through the ionosphere is subject to path delay and the depolarizing effect of Faraday rotation, both of which are dependent on global position and geometry.

Emulation of magneto-optic Faraday effect using ultracold atoms
We propose an arresting scheme for emulating the famous Faraday effect in ultracold atomic gases. Inspired by the similarities between the light field and bosonic atoms, we represent the light propagation in medium by the atomic transport in accompany of

Shaping Matter with Acoustic Waves: From Particles to Functional Structures
Acoustic‐directed assembly is reviewed as a materials‐oriented strategy for organizing particles, polymers, metals, and biological systems into functional structures. The review distinguishes reversible manipulation from permanent structure formation through medium fixation, particle fixation, and in situ material generation, highlighting routes toward

Faraday Rotation of Pulsed and Continuous-wave Light in Atomic Vapour [PDF]
The absorptive and dispersive properties of a Doppler-broadened vapour of rubidium atoms is investigated. A detailed model of the atom-light interaction is developed and found to be in excellent agreement with experiment in the regime where the ...
