Internal reflections of the Gaussian beams in Faraday isolators
Applied Optics, 1997The reflection coefficient of the Faraday isolator-mirror system in the presence of internal reflections of the incident Gaussian beam is theoretically and experimentally explored for three different architectures of a Faraday isolator. In every case, these internal reflections are shown to alter widely the behavior of the system.

Faraday isolator for a kilowatt-class pulsed laser
Laser Congress 2023 (ASSL, LAC), 2023We report on the first-ever demonstration of a Faraday isolator for a large- aperture high-energy pulsed laser. The isolator exhibits a stable isolation ratio of 30.46 dB with the 100 J/10 Hz/10 ns pulses at 1030 nm.

Magnetoactive media for cryogenic Faraday isolators
Journal of the Optical Society of America B, 2011We analyzed a number of optical media, such as GGG, Nd:YAG, Yb:YAG, fused silica, CaF2, Yb:CaF2, and CdMnTe, that have not been used, to our knowledge, in the cryogenic Faraday isolator (FI) before. The temperature dependence of the Verdet constant and thermo-optical constants was experimentally investigated for λ=1.07 μm.

TSAG-based cryogenic Faraday isolator
Optical Materials, 2015Abstract Thermooptical and magnetooptical properties of novel magnetoactive crystal terbium–scandium aluminum garnet were investigated at temperature range 80–300 K. It is shown that Verdet constant increases inversely proportional to temperature, and thermally induced depolarization, and the optical power of the thermal lens is reduced significantly

A Faraday isolator with a square optical aperture
Optics Communications, 2015Abstract A Faraday isolator with a square magneto-optical element is proposed and investigated. It is shown that the device has better isolation ratio and higher level of maximal operating power over conventional isolators with a round aperture when used in high-power laser systems with a square profile of beam intensity distribution.

Faraday isolator for high-power nonpolarized radiation
Optics Communications, 2015Abstract We propose a Faraday isolator scheme in which high-power nonpolarized radiation is divided into two orthogonally polarized beams that pass through one MOE. The experimentally confirmed advantage of the scheme is reduction of thermally induced depolarization due to mutual thermal action of the beams optimally spaced apart.

All-Fiber Isolator Based on Faraday Rotation

The fiber Faraday rotator uses 56-wt% terbium-doped silica fiber, and the fiber polarizers are Corning SP1060 single-polarization fiber.

Cryogenic Faraday Isolator Based on TGG Ceramics
IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics, 2014A cryogenic Faraday isolator based on terbium-gallium garnet (TGG) ceramics has been designed and studied in experiments. Its performance capabilities at the laser radiation power of 435 W are demonstrated, and our models suggest that the isolator should perform up to 2 kW.
